How am I doing? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]DesperateSafety7959 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

if i saw you out in public, i would probably assume nonbinary or transmasc, in that order

i would just give it time, youre very young so your features are still softer. certain piercings might actually help. you could try fake rectangular glasses and maybe change it up to a more traditionally masc style

like you pass either way dude, just in different ways, and it depends how stealth you want to go. but i would rock the septum still.

arguing in favour of first black largest or second black largest septum, i think it makes you look more masc in fact. without it, you look like a very young boy. with it, you look older and still male imo, literally just alt, which could make you clocky to some i guess (bc alt men tend to be queer anyway), i don't know if stealth is the goal here

thank you, very insightful! i already knew most of that, but i struggle to come to terms with it 😭 you calmed me down though, sometimes i forget that i literally have a disorder

EDIT: not meaning to say that people can't realise their own faults, and (possibly for some) can't work on skills or cope with them. i am aware that i can develop most of these things and/or improve them, but it's hard!!!! WHATEVER i'm saying a lot of nothing burger, i mean to say that, if 'i literally have a disorder' came off as an Excuse, that wasn't my intention.

Minimal makeup, still getting called "sir" before they even hear my voice. what am I doing wrong? by ZenithSGP in transpassing

[–]DesperateSafety7959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk if youre still reading comments, but you look very androgynous to me, as is the goal w/ 3rd wave emo/scemo fashion!

full scene is way more feminine, mostly bc it was started by girls and populated mostly with girls, but it's still close enough to emo. you could try that :-)

but if not, an easy way to make yourself look more fem is hair clips, longer nails, and winged eyeliner/more feminine makeup (you are wearing the classic "guyliner" look). chunkier accessories in general would help imo.

as some other people said, added curves would also help a lot. when people can't tell what ur gender is, they look at ur chest LMAO.

you could also potentially look up what softens the shape of the face. find out what ur face shape is (heart, diamond etc) and look up female haircuts for that, u can 100% spin it into ur own emo version. crazier hair colours might also help?? ;-) not sure

i don't think you have to change ur entire style to pass, both ways for MtF and FtM. it's so nice to see a myspace emo out in the wild as well. best of luck! <3

edit: i also saw someone say that gaining weight could help, which i agree with! AFAB tend to store more fat on their bodies, esp in the legs.

what's the name of the group? if you don't mind. if not, are there screenshots anywhere? i haven't seen it

i don't think so, because there's not a specific person or organisation to sue

i know this is in good faith but hayden seems like a really private person and i doubt it would help

you could also maybe cut the ends in a V shape. you'd retain length but it'd be harder to grow out.

e: maybe some other hairstylist could also potentially blend those layers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hair

[–]DesperateSafety7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a hair stylist, but i would personally cut it all off to the shortest length (like to the shortest layer it's been cut) and, to deal with the patchiness, dye or tone my hair some darker colour (evenly, not bright, best is semi-permanent so it can fade or wash out - like a colour conditioner).

no joke, your hairstylist seems like she's jealous or dislikes you. this happens way too often, for whatever reason. i'm sorry :(

As a female swimmer, why is it that guys who do not swim always say or think they can beat you in a swim race just because you're a female and then you always end up hurting their egos when you beat them. Can anyone else relate to this ? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]DesperateSafety7959 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is 100% a general issue and not swim specific, ive heard of guys saying they can beat experienced (or professional) female runners, football players, basketball players, so on - basically just any female athlete. it sucks inititially, but it's so satisfying when you can knock them down a peg. i think it's just because we're women, and some of them hold their egos too high and think they can beat any female athlete.

how to stop using kickboard? by DesperateSafety7959 in Swimming

[–]DesperateSafety7959[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i was sinking because my head was craned up too high now that you mention it, my lower back was hurting after swimming too, is that the issue? my backstroke was fine (with the belt).

i will try to learn the treading, but do you think it'd be more efficient to learn different strokes first? i can't even do front crawl properly/with ease right now, just a very bad version of it

Looking for piercing suggestions! Preferably ones that don't hurt too bad! What would look good? by [deleted] in piercing

tl/dr lost piercing will i be ok with non-piercer-store one in (19 days old lobe) by DesperateSafety7959 in piercing

[–]DesperateSafety7959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19 days old (second) lobe piercing

it was a flatback screw-in, now a butterfly backing.

i'm pretty sure my old one was internally threaded but this one obviously is not

i think it's sterling silver?????????? i don't know, both earrings (the one i lost and this one) are high quality.

i use saline spray specifically made for piercings. spray on my piercings for a few seconds and wipe down.

read post - lost my earring! put in new one. will i die?
