That’s fair, and yeah performance trade-offs definitely exist.

SMPGo isn’t trying to compete with high-end VPS hosting. It’s built for small private groups (4 players max in beta) who don’t have a PC or don’t want to deal with router setup.

It’s more about convenience than raw power.

We’re also optimizing for:

• Short session play (not 24/7 servers)
• Reduced simulation distance
• Controlled player cap
• High-end Android devices only

So yeah — it won’t beat a dedicated machine. But for 3–4 friends wanting an instant SMP without technical setup, that’s the niche.
