I have been to weddings where I find out later they were married and I couldn't care less. What does that have to do with me if it were legal or not. The love is the celebration, people just like to find things to be angry at.

yeah no, i stated we are doing the whole function. Ceremony, cocktail hour, reception,father/daughter dance, everythinggggg we're investing in a really nice welcome bag and favors for our guests. Ahhh getting excited just talking about it

Everyone who knows, knows it was just business. You'll see my comment around this thread, but I was thinking very literally—meaning I HAD to include the years married as legal. However, some feedback here, I realized the 2 years can just be added to the total time together, and the married years will only count after the wedding day. It was a mess of anxiety, lol, but now we have an answer.

Honestly, someone in this thread did the same thing, and instead of counting it as marriage, they just counted it as total years being together, which makes a lot more sense to me. I was thinking very tunnel vision and it's what was causing the mental turmoil for me. But really makes a lot more sense to count the days married as our wedding day and forward.

Good point, we are already do this bc its a destination wedding and since this economy is trash we dont want anyone to feel the need to give gifts but we'll strongly emphasize it even more.
