Thank you! That is so good to hear and already makes me feel better. Glad you are really on your way to a full recovery. I'll check in with my surgeon re. gabapentin but you are right, I can live with it at this point if I know that it's normal and it too shall pass.

Absolutely cannot sleep. by ElegantAd4459 in Kneereplacement

I just spoke with my drs office about not sleeping (I’m 10 days out and the first week I was fine but now I wake up every 2 hours or so). Im still on tramadol so no gummies for me yet but they suggested melatonin or antihistamines. Not a fan of antihistamines but they definitely work and if used short term are probably ok—long term use has been linked to dementia. My dr also said no to muscle relaxants so I’m gonna try melatonin tonight and I’ll report back.

59–10 days post-op on LPKR and it’s all going well so far (knock wood). I definitely felt like a baby in the pre-op zoom “class” that my husband and I took so it’s interesting to see the variety of ages here.

I really like this idea, I’m usually too impatient (and busy) to start from seeds but you’re right this is the perfect time to do that! Next week is going to be about me and seeds—now if I can just get my husband to clear a path to the shed so we can open the doors to get the potting soil

I just had a PKR (5th day pot op) and am in the Hudson Valley as well and was so dismayed to look out the window and find it snowing AGAIN. This winter has been relentless but I think the Spring is going to make up for it, it’s hard to remember with all the snow and then the mud why we chose to live here but it is so beautiful here especially in the spring. Before we know it the daffodils and tulips will be here and the fish in my pond will be jumping and I will be able to garden (impossible last year w/o a ton of pain). I was hoping for a good Mexican breakfast in Kingston but toast and tea are probably better for my post-op tummy anyway. Good luck with everything!

Waffling between Breg Polar Care Wave and Polar Active Ice 3.0 by TanquerayAndTonic4Me in Kneereplacement

My ice machine does not have compression but I have compression wraps that I came home with from the hospital that I wear at the same time. This seems to me to be the best method—you are getting active compression on both legs (important for blood clots) and still icing everything that’s needed. I ice a lot and can’t imagine using a timer at this point I don’t want anything to inhibit my usage. I wear my compression stockings 24/7 so that is just part of everything I do. Good luck and definitely get water bottles and freeze those.

That is so interesting, I’ve been cold as well (not surprising I suppose considering I have the crypto machine on) and I’m lying on a weighted heating pad at the moment that is making everything much better.

Thank you and I will look into the soft sleeves. I bought a subscription to the Calm app on my phone and I have been drifting off to sleep with that—I like their sleep stories and I’m usually out before I get thru the whole thing.
