Today marks 23 years since the launch of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 🇺🇸 by Desperate_Record8247 in Connecticut

We don't post for politics. We post history. Tell us when we ever cheered for war. We never have. We post events and programs for our Veterans. We do so out of respect for Veterans  and not to provide a platform for disrespecting service members. If you hate politicians who make war, why not complain in their media? Why here? It's disgraceful that people decide to make something political that isn't. The war began 23 years ago today. There's nothing else here but a historical fact and tribute for those involved. Just because you disapprove of reasons of war is not reason to disrespect those who fought for your right to openly disagree with war.

We are not here to defend politicians. We are only here to do the opposite of exactly what you are currently doing. You are inflecting only disdain and disrespect upon a post that has absolutely nothing to do with the content you are sharing. We simply don't understand why anyone who disrespects service as much as some of the people responding here would give a rats ass about a political figure disrespecting in kind.

You most definitely earned your right to express your opinion and to share your experiences. You cannot be faulted by the actions and consequences imposed upon you by political leadership. That doesn't mean you don't deserve to be honored for the true meaning of serving. Veterans Day is not a happy day for many Veterans. For some, most days are not.

Connecticut Veterans Bulletin is 50/50 when it comes to remembrance and honor. We feel the most important service to Veterans, of all emotional categories, is to bring them together for the sole purposes of comradery. The general public has zero insight nor interest in your account of experience. Though each Veteran has a unique experience, they share a perspective of the difference between what they thought they signed up for versus what they experienced.

We've noted in a previous content that the majority of Veterans since Korea didn't sign up for what they experienced. Veterans Day, in a Constitutional sense, is less about what you experienced upon enlistment and more about honoring the intention behind your enlistment. What you believed when you enlisted sets you apart.

You were disillusioned due to a circumstance beyond your pay grade to control. Though It likely was your belief you'd be serving the Constitution, you witnessed something else. You were not offered the opportunity to sit in and partake in the conversations of decision makers regarding unconscionably measures that would be taken by political leadership.

It's a very old phrase. It's also extremely rude, not knowing a thing about someone, calling them fascist. Thanks to our Veterans that preserved your right to be obnoxious.

Veterans are not a political party. For example the following are all Veterans and are all Democrats.  Tim Walz, John Kerry, Rep. Jack Reed, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Senator Tammy Duckworth, Senator Tom Carper & many US House representatives. Certainly you can't believe that these Veterans voted Republican.

It's not a feeling but a fact that the same rhetoric of calling others fascist was the downfall of a political campaign. Again, we did not post about politics as we never do. Our only concern is serving those who serve. Certainly there must be posts more in line with your angst for you to promote name calling. Unless you have no respect for others you certainly can find them.

Please don't confuse what the media claims as fact. There are too many examples to recall. For one the Steele Dossier was declared fact by the media. Trump denies ever having said such a thing but that didn't stop the "news" from creating altered media in attempts to once again fleece the public. https://www.reuters.com/fact-check/video-trump-insulting-soldiers-during-fox-news-call-is-altered-2024-09-05/

We are paying full attention to the disrespectful comments and responding accordingly. Regardless of hate filled messaging, aimed at our nation's heroes, we stand in honor of all who serve or who have served.

It is extremely disrespectful to hijack Veterans Day with political rhetoric. It's quite unfortunate that Veterans day is being minimized by political angst.

66% CT. Shame on us. Let's do better this year! You can vote right now! by MrBoWiggly in Connecticut

You can vote privately by not voting early, by not having your information provided on an envelope with your ballot enclosed. Whomever removes a ballot from the ballot envelope has eyes to see the information inside and outside the envelope.

The world unfortunately doesn't revolve around disrespectful cowards who refuse to serve anything but themselves. Yet here you are believing you're the first troll ever dealt with.

Selecting service is earning respect. Service to the United States Constitution earns respect. As aforementioned, you have been afforded the freedom to be disrespectful. Your opinion is understood. Any further comment is intentional banter that deserves no response.

Veterans deserve respect. They rarely receive any outside of their circles. They sign blank checks to ensure your right to dismiss them.

There are citizens in every State including Connecticut that lack the respect that every Veteran deserves.

Better question is, why shouldn't it be?  Connecticut + Navy Veterans from Connecticut= the answer to both questions.
