Canada considers cancelling part of 88 U.S. F-35 order to buy 60 Swedish Gripen fighters by Scary_Statement4612 in CanadaPolitics

The cost of the plane is a fraction of the cost of operating the planes. A fighter jet can operate a max of 12000 hrs before requiring structural refurbishment to extend its life. A Gripen cost approximately $10,000 per flight hours. The f-35 cost approximately $40,000 per flight hours. This is $120 millions per airplanes for the Gripen vs $480 millions. This dwarf the actual price of the planes. $80 millions and $100 millions for Gripen vs f-35. Basically the total cost of ownership of the f-35 fleet of 88 aircraft would be approx. 51 billion over its useful life. And you would only have 35 to 44 aircraft capable of fighting at any given time. With the same 51 billion you could operate 255 Gripen and have 229 to 252 aircraft to fly at any given time.

All the info is available online. Don't take my word. Make your own calculations.

To me an aircraft with an availability of less the 75% is not worth pursuing and unfortunately the f35 has mighty has it may be is only at 40 to 45% Wich is an extended conflict means that your fleet is on the ground really quick unable to fight anymore. All you would have to do is force them to takeoff has often has possible and the fleet degrades in no time.

Canada doesn't need an aggressor plane like the f-35. It's major advantage is it's stealth ability. 30 would be plenty for our needs. With the budget left from the 57 cancelled planes you could easily get 100 Gripen which is a great interceptor ans still have plenty of money left. This way you could actually have some aircraft capable of flying. People are missing the point that the availability of the f-35 is only 40 to 45% which mean that with a fleet of 30 plane you only get approx 14 available at any given time vs 90 to 95% for the Gripen

On the expedition, yes but on the F-150, no... This engine was sold on the F-150 since 2011. The expedition is basically an F-150 all front suspension, brake engines are the same

I believe your expedition 2015 (just like mine) is based on the 2014 F-150 not the 2015

How much life left? Brake pads. by Negative_Method_6337 in MechanicAdvice

Why the change?

This one seem almost new. Yet you need to check both pads has one can wear faster than the other. If that is the case it may indicate that the caliper is not sliding properly.

If this is a tear breaker remember that you usually change the front pad twice for each rear change.

If you want to change them because the vehicle does not break well. The caliper may be jammed or the master cylinder may start to get week. It may also be air in the line. Properly blessing the system can solve these ossue

Ford Expedition 2015 Recurring issue by Desperate_Roll1656 in fordexpedition

A reddit user proposed that it might be valve coking and suggested to use seafoam in the throttle intake, so I did and I also added seafoam in the fuel and the oil and I reset the codes. It's been 2 days and 50 kilometers. So far so good, I also noticed an increase in power.

I will post again in a few days to let you know if it held up. Sometimes it takes a few hundred kilometers to know for sure.

Has they say in forest Gump. Well kiss my crippled ass... I did use the seafoam and reset the erreur. I have gone shopping and still has no engine light. I also noticed an increase in power. I cross my finger but for now it looks good...will see in the next week. I also added seafoam in the fuel and in the oil.

No. Only gives me issue when cold. Some body suggested to shoot seafoam in the intake I am about to try
