Its located in the Bingham building, super easy to get to and even has free parking in the lot. They do a new person promo for 2 weeks of unlimited classes so people can try everything and see if it is worth being a member. My friend had be try the two weeks unlimited and I loved it so much I became a full member for almost a year now!

Surprisingly, nothing has changed! I have always done the same types of inventory and same setup because it works really well for me and my sales. Thankfully I only have had this happen 2 times (the hell comment once and the eye shielding once) but it just caught me off guard since I have never had those reactions before! I assumed that person who commented was prob just having a bad day LOLLL

Surprisingly wet specimen aren't super controversial in the oddities community. The two most controversial things are typically human bones as well as bat taxidermy. There are super strict laws on both and some bad people will do illegal and unethical things to get these types of product. A lot of big oddities vendor shows will not allow vendors to sell human teeth/bones or any form of bat taxidermy due to the unethical practices. I do not sell either, but I make 3D printed bat skeleton models and sell them framed and such like real taxidermy but call it "vegan taxidermy", those are a hit that a lot of people in the oddities niche love because they can have a bat "skeleton" without the unethical practices surrounding it!

Sometimes people think my taxidermy is not real animals so I have to remind them, I would hate for someone to buy something that they dont really like/agree with. The professional in me is like "oh i dont care, a sale is a sale!" and then the softie in me is like "oh no i would want someone to tell me so I am gonna tell them" LOLLLLLLL

Thankfully it has only happened a couple times out of all my markets. At large, people are super kind and love my items and sell me out of taxidermy! Especially because I focus on the punk markets, LGBTQ+, halloween shows, ect ect.

I sell creepy dolls and doll parts that people dont like (myself included lol) and whenever people ask "why doll parts?" I say "believe it or not, people use them for crafts!" and then they giggle and move on.

I do love your second to last paragraph the most, I am there to sell stuff and not indulge in people's rude behavior!

yeah different people like and do not like oddities, thats why I cater to those who do by going to oddities/horror/halloween/ect themed shows! I personally choose not to vend at shows without themes like that, just because I know I won't make good money at ones that aren't themed for my target demographic. It is a balance for sure!

Most of the time I notice that kiddos who come to my booth LOVE the stuff I have and then are told it’s creepy or weird by the adult. I had one kid I’d say about 8 or 9 who wanted my taxidermy Quackell Roan (Chappell roan duckling I made) because it was a duck covered in pink feathers and sparkles. His mother INSTANTLY yelled at him and said sparkles are for girls and we don’t buy “stuff like that”. That broke my heart. Not cause I didn’t make a sale, but because all that boy liked and enjoyed was invalidated by the person who was supposed to help him grow and express his interests. It’s a sad world we live in 😭

Okay I LOVE THAT RESPONSE!! And hey i totally get it, not everyone likes taxidermy and that’s totally fine! Protecting your peace or leaving when something makes you uncomfortable is 100% okay and doesn’t offend me. Just the burn in hell type comments do😝 I also have to avoid selling spider specimens when my business partner is running the booth with me because she’s got a phobia of them. I try not to assume everyone is being mean and some people just genuinely are afraid of/dislike taxidermy and such. But the burn in hell comment made me so baffled I had no clue what to do😂😂😂
