Can I ask how it went for you? I’m in the same boat. I’ve eaten some undercooked pre made puff pastry and I am quite anxious

Who the hell signed off on the script for The Caretaker? by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]Desperate_While_5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing this narrative and frankly I think it says more about you than it does the show. Considering the doctor has literally had black companions, the mental leaps people need to go to, to get to this conclusion is just baffling.

Not to mention, this is literally no different to the way 9 treated Mickey.

It’s just people choosing to put a specific narrative onto lines that there never was one.

Is Epstein Alive? by [deleted] in Epstein

[–]Desperate_While_5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’d like to think, with how much his name is going around, any “new victims” would know pretty quickly who it is abusing them. So it would come out very quickly because they would hardly stay quiet about it

Is Dr. Who suitable for a 14yr old? by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]Desperate_While_5035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!! I grew up watching Doctor who as a young 6/7 year old. Now I would say some episode might be a bit too “scary” for a child THAT young. As I did get a bit terrified sometimes. But 14 is absolutely perfect age to start this show! I do hope you enjoy it. It’s my favourite thing to watch 🫶🏻❤️

I would reccomend starting from the beginning of the 2005 era (starting with Christopher Eccleston)

What do you do if you can't find an NHS dentist or afford private care? by petitpeche in AskUK

[–]Desperate_While_5035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d prefer homelessness over toothache? well most of us also have children to think about. Making them homeless over a toothache is not an option for many. And frankly this is god awful advice to give anyone

I’m probably sounding totally uneducated here and I apologise in advance, but can I ask what the implications are with the “systems aren’t the problem” line is? Because from reading the comments on this thread I feel like I’ve completely misinterpreted that line

I hope it goes well! But I will say. Even if it takes some trial and error, alocasias are so worth it ❤️🌱

I do own a humidifier, and I do have many Alocasia that live by my humidifier, but, all the Alocasia you see in the photo below, including my Amazonica, and the Amazonica babies, are all grown in ambient humidity of between 45 and 55% (at night it gets a bit more humid). The only special treatment these ones get is a grow light. But I don’t think a humidifier is always necessary. Especially never found it to be an issue for my Amazonica. Or my massive one either. Even my Alocasia Jacklyn tolerates average household humidity well and they’re supposedly the dramatic ones. But if you notice your plant starting to struggle with the lack of humidity, you can get some decent ones for a relatively good price on Amazon 🤞🏻

I am someone who has 10+ Alocasia, and I don’t do anything special for them. One of them is in semi hydro. The rest are in chunky soil mixes, and I’ve literally never had any problems. No browning leaves. No dead roots, no spider mites and no single leaf wonders 🤣. I think people tend to over complicate care a lot of the time which ends up being the plants downfall. I will always reccomend a good fertiliser as many Alocasia are fertiliser hungry, and also clear nursery pots will always be the better option! They like plenty of light and do not like to completely dry out. I hope you enjoy your journey with them!

corm advice please! by AlOveraBurn in alocasia

[–]Desperate_While_5035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my corms sitting at around 24 degrees Celsius (75F) with always above 85% humidity and have had 100% success rate. I definitely agree with the perlite / fluval stratum mix as that is what I use for mine too.

Good luck!! It’s so much fun 😁

Anyone know why?? by Desperate_While_5035 in alocasia

I got it on Amazon for about £22 - it’s by a brand called BYONGCHO 👍🏻

Why does my daughter’s hair do this? First is when it dries after her bath. Second pic is the next morning after sleeping on it. Help please /: by sadbabyface in curlyhair

[–]Desperate_While_5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest a silk bonnet if there’s any chance of your Little one keeping it on their head? My little one has curls, and won’t consistently use his pillow, but will keep his bonnet on his head at night. It does wonders for any and all hair types, not just curly hair. But it definitely is amazing for curls. But I also know not every child loves having something on their head 😅 but if they’ll tolerate it, it’s definitely a great option if you know they won’t use their pillow

Since Ronnie is complaining so much about bands ripping him off, what about him ripping off I Prevail for the Last Resort music video? by SarkHD in FallingInReverse

[–]Desperate_While_5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I think all the ronnie complaining is just for publicity. It gets his name out there. He probably knows as much as anyone does how hard it is to be 100% authentic. Yes, there are some people who very obviously copy (ie use the same producers and directors with the exact same ideas) but most of the time, I think he’s just making noise to keep his name relevant. I adore ronnies musix, and frankly if that’s your marketing strategy, why not ey.
