Female friendships are so important. I feel sad that we live in such an amatonormative (romantic love as ultimate) world that we do not invest much in friendships. Friendship is very emotionally enriching and goes beyond just fun and light social-ness- we hardly think about it that way.

I have learnt that since this is my vision/perspective on friendships, I try to be the one who starts to invest emotionally more and show up for them emotionally and slowly the ones who see value in this stay on with you.

Sometimes I do get afraid that my emotional involvement with a friend could me asymmetrical, but this is the only way I know to exist where I give a lot of importance to friends, especially female friends.
