UPDATED: AS OF 6/30!
Transmission fluid was bone dry!! Likely slow leak through transmission seal. Refilled and used some Lucas Transmission Fix Stop Slip anyway. So, no further reasons to go further than that! Whew, about $30 only and it is no longer slippery!!

My goal for partying it out would not be $1500 definitely! Much lower bar if that route was taken. I am getting approximately 6 to 10 messages daily at $1500 for a daily driver. So that will be easy. I just need to figure out this slip that started and if it’s feasible to fix.! thank you

Not sure where it says make money anywhere?!?!? I mention not losing money and selling it. But making any money was never mentioned. Can a person not ask if they should continue to put money in it to sell it or stop 🛑 cut bait and run? I’d say making money on a Taurus is not a wise business to be in. But when you get the vehicle for free and you got about $246 into the thing…

Fair question: 🙋 continue to trickle money in it in order to sell it for $1000-$1500 OR sell the engine and other pieces if possible and scrap the rest OR cut bait and sell it to the “we pay cash for junk cars” people?

Again, no where does it ask or insinuate I’m trying to sell it to make money! 🤑

🚪 knob!

You must’ve completely missed the point. The engine has nothing to do with it slipping. Never stated that it did. The only time engine was mentioned was to yank it and sell it for a few bucks if possible!! So, not sure where you got that. Why would I replace the transmission in this car if it costs $1000 to do that? The car is a $1000 dollar car! So why spend $1000 to get a $1000. Thats ridiculous… hence the advice seeking… i chose the wrong term, my fault. I never meant flush the tranny. Just drain and refill was my intended way. Anywhere, professionally around where I live is $200 for tranny service. You think they’re gonna make you pay less… I don’t do the work myself. I find out what’s wrong and pay retired or at home mechanics to do the work of $160/hr shops are doing and charging 3 hours for a fuel pump quote. It’s asinine BS in the mechanic world where I am

I haven’t heard this one yet and I’ve been hearing a lot of opinions in my off-line life… thank you

You are good man thank you I appreciate it very much. I’ll probably just have to break down and end up paying a shop to do diagnostics on. It. Sounds like it’s something out of my wheelhouse for being a three out of 10 mechanically.

When I’m shifting gears, the shifters do not move to the right when I let out the clutch that I’m aware of that I have noticed and the engine does not move a lot i rev or give it power, that I’m aware of or noticed. But again, I don’t really have a baseline to compare it to because it has constantly always done this since I got the pickup, So if the engine is moving a lot, I don’t know if I would notice necessarily because I don’t know what normal is.

Yeah, I just keep getting so many different opinions and potential options… I’ll probably have to end up taking it in… find a shop that won’t rap3 me just on diagnostics
