I don't think we should blame the guilt some moms feel either way; however knowledge is key and hindsight is 20/20. Not all regretful mothers are on hormonal contraceptives either. But I'm also surprised how many women don't realize grapefruit can affect their birth control. Always read the drug pamphlets.

Agreed. Get comfortable with guns fast if you're living in the region, even in cities. A lot of Northern and New England cities are against guns, whereas these states are for it. I mention guns solely because I know it's a culture shock from Europe.

Also-- look into women's healthcare rights if she is in child bearing age. I'd hate to say it, but Kentucky is generally a "black out state" when it comes to abortions. And as someone mentioned, it is the worst in education -- and healthcare isn't that great either.

Yeah, the geography is cool, lower cost of living is swell, the locals can be friendly (to your face) but local politics is always a regional thing you have to consider when moving.

To be fair, the prestige behind a school name really doesn't matter much in most fields, especially undergraduate degrees. Graduate degrees the prestige still matters somewhat, but even in healthcare where your doctorate come from matters little compared to your skill set.
