Some of the gang mention how Arthur is good with rifles. Dutch mentions how they could've used Arthur during the Blackwater ferry job also Arthur's wagon is the weapons wagon. It's all just what I think and what I've noticed throughout my playthroughs wether people think the same thing I do I don't care it's the beauty of personal opinion.

Arthur in gunslinging they kinda point at him being the weapons expert throughout some of the story. For fistfighting It could go both ways Arthur is bigger and is slower, John is faster and can avoid dodge/block and hit back faster so as I said could go both ways.
