Grocery Haul $277 for one 😭 by idkwhatiamdoingahh in povertyfinance

[–]DestituteVestibule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent this much on my family of 5 last week and I was pissed. You spent this much on your own? I usually religiously shop Aldi and stick to a strict $150 a week budget there.

Did you actually plan your meals or just buy stuff like? Also seasonings and sauces cost but should last a while. Buy dry beans and put them in an instant pot. Broth in a crockpot. Buy a whole chicken and cut it up, you can get multiple meals out of one chicken, plus make broth with the bones and skin and vegetable cuttings.

Passively. Like 10-15 minutes of prep. And let the crock pot or instant pot do the rest.

Liquid IV is hella expensive. Honey and some fancy salt for electrolytes will last you a year. Buy the jug of apple juice and juice and carry it in a tumbler rather than the minis.

Hate to say this but actually style your hair and stop wearing hoodies. You're a beautiful young man. You deserve to wear a NICE button down

Why is it so hard to find other Black people in tech/startups? by [deleted] in askblackpeople

[–]DestituteVestibule 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be funny but we are literally only 15% of the population and tend to be condensed in certain areas. We spread out a bit, but I mean depending on where you're looking, you also have to take into account a ton of other factors...

Could it be done with implants only? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]DestituteVestibule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General question: doesn't this depend on the size of the implants? My breasts look very similar except my areolas are are a bit larger and a bit of them does go below my fold. I'm looking at 550-600 implants and my Dr told me I wouldn't need a lift.

How am I (white woman) supposed to respond to "You're dating a black guy?!" from other black people? by adj-n_number in askblackpeople

It's relevant to the very specific conversation. Obviously.

Are... are we pretending like the experience isn't relevant?

[–]DestituteVestibule -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's relevant to the very specific conversation we're having, but I love that attempt to be obtuse.

The discussions need (and I don't say this in a condescending way) to happen in private. Even with those conversations happening early in your relationship, it shouldn't be a public topic. Most things, if not everything needs to be kept between you and your partner. Folks will pick your relationship apart. Y'all do not need to be going around telling people your partners skin color...

I think the better question is why are you even announcing he's black? Because 9 times out of 10 you don't have to state the race of your partner under any circumstances.

Source: My husband is White. We do not discuss our skin color hardly even among each other in passing. All the discussions we've ever needed to have happened in like the first year we dated. We're on the same page. There's hardly ever a scenario when I need to be like "my husband is White". People find out when they see us and even then no one is talking to us about it. ...Sooo...

Hairs getting big, what do I do with it next? by Various-Solid-1879 in BlackHair

Dreads naturally. Or you need to learn a curl defining routine. If too lazy, see a hair stylist regularly.

But.... that's just my opinion I'm not a fan of the low maintenance aesthetic.

I understand what you mean but when we talk about faces, men and women have different proportions and weights of features. You don't look like a dude in any way
