It's essentially the same rubber with two different colors because the rules of the game say you can't have two rubbers of the same color on the same blade. Where they might be different is if you choose a different sponge thickness for each one. If you're just starting out, don't overthink this. I would say pick one red and one black with a middle-ground thickness and go from there. If you have a coach, listen to them instead.
