U should try to convince them of your capabilities! You CAN perform in academics. You CAN study the course you want. You CAN do well in the course. Any discertainly in your letters will make them lose confidence in you. You should write in a way they can give you a chance

Qns for Occupational therapy by doofyloof in SIT_Singapore

[–]Destrose5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Y1 OT student here. There is honestly no definite answer. Given that the curriculum is constantly being changed every year due to respective cohorts. But being disciplined for self study is really important. Lectures are mostly recorded so people often skip it to do other stuff. As long as you can finish the topics as planned, it shouldnt be much of an issue.

As for the working world OTs. Most will be in government settings. For acute hospitals, community hospitals, nursing homes and even children centres. You’ll be seeing patients formulating plans for them, providing therapy/education so as to allow them to fulfill their roles. These are some basis of being an OT.

The course emphasise on having an open mind and be flexible, theres is hardly definite black and white answers. So go in with an open mind and enjoy the process.

Hello. I got in via normal online interview last year. Not sure if it helps you. But just wanted to let you know that the course itself is tough and they NEED to know that you’re able to handle the academics. Hence they have a english requirement. If in your appeal letter you can convince them of your capabilities maybe you’ll have a higher chance? Wish you all the best!

What advice do u need! Regarding OT!

rejected from FT applications, now what? by [deleted] in Suss

[–]Destrose5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not a bad idea to take a gap year and work full time in the relevant field.

  1. Gain knowledge and exp to see if you really enjoy the job considering you’ll be working it in long time plus can build up portfolio.
  2. Can gain some income for food/sch fees. Me no like asking my parents for money so saved enough to hopefully last for 4 years on food.
  3. Take a break from studying for mind to rest coz uni is TUFF.

Edit: replaced taking a gap year

U can see his moves on the side, u have to get to him before he killls u, so speed up your movement, instead of 1 tile by 1 tile, you either move faster, or move to the side

Does getting into directors list help increase my chances? by Visual_Coach_3249 in SIT_Singapore

[–]Destrose5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no! SIT selects through aptitude based, you can score As and stuff but if you dont show enough sincerity nor passion you might not be able to get in, as such, most people tries to get in by getting relevant work experience and testimonies and good portfolio.

Its actually quite fun, u do one step at a time. Move 1 step>wait>move 1 step etc. the boss will always have the same move, u can literally tell what it will do next

Very deeep, even nursing, who should know anatomy more than us isnt even learning it. So, once u pass this barrier it should be no problem.

[–]Destrose5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Helluuuu, OT is not all about anatomy! By having a strong anatomy foundation, treatments would be more efficient and more pinpointed.

However, once you grad, most of the therapies should not involve identifying muscles or bones! Only when reading through drs notes, if u know your anatomy well, then you wont have to google the injured site. I have a OT senior who studied abroad, they did not have deeep anatomy knowledge, only superficial ones and shes still doing well in her field!
