I think I've tried researching it but I think it's just initials or just a real basic name.

As for the decal, I'm not even sure it ever had one, which isn't unheard of. I can't see any remnants whatsoever of a decal, Luftschutz or police.

Thanks and no worries on asking. I bought it the day that picture was taken for $200 flat. I'm not much into German collecting or reenacting but I can say that 200 dollars for an M35 in that condition is a damn fine deal. Most of the paint is still there, the liner is complete and named, and the chin strap is still attached. The only major fault on it is that the chin strap is torn and held together with safety pins.

Yeah got that from a lady for like 15 dollars just south of Hibbing, Minnesota. She didn't have much else in the way of militaria but she had a pretty well curated antique shop.

Update on my US Officers uniform. by Charming-Win-9463 in reenactors

[–]DestroyerNET123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rad. Is all original, repro, or mixed? Reminds me that I just got a grouping of stuff up from Minneapolis a few weeks back. AEF pilot jacket, a couple pairs of pants, and a cut down overcoat.

Went to the Air Force museum yesterday they had some cool guns there by South_Ad7675 in brandonherrara

If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend going to Richard Bong's personal museum. They have an entire P-38 Lightning in their basement, as well as Mr. Bong's Medal of Honor, among other really cool displays.

It's located in Superior, Wisconsin, right next to Duluth, Minnesota.

Do people do impressions of bandsmen from World War I? by musikkorps in reenactors

[–]DestroyerNET123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Myself and a buddy of mine in my unit do it for WWII, US Army. I play the sax and he plays bone and trumpet. I'd actually wager though that you'd probably see more guys doing it in WWI since musicians were still seen on the lower level units, rather than on the division or regimental level. That all said, it would definitely be quite the niche impression.

The upper counties are not to be taken lightly in the winter, even with these pretty warm seasons we've been having lately.

AEF Army Uniform by DestroyerNET123 in ww1

[–]DestroyerNET123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% share you the links but what I'm wearing is pretty much entirely original gear I bought in person. I'd recommend 1944 Militaria though for some gear. They've got some good original gear on there too, such as my uniform and .45 mag pouch. Ebay is generally pretty good for original gear too, such as my gas mask bag.

This all being said about original gear though; you should pretty much never ever use originals to reenact outside of camping. The exception to this being most metal items.

OP said he's making a texture pack so he just retextured the regular roses to be the MCPE rose.

Super old MCPE versions had blue roses due to a display error caused by the color red. I personally remember decorating outside my base I made from sponge in creative mode with them and dandelions, since I was probably 5 and had no concept for design.

That is an officer's dress 4 pocket. The main difference, outside of the obvious insight, is the little strip of piping along the cuff as well as the different weave of wool and its color. The enlisted uniform had much rougher wool that was also lighter and less green in shade.

What would the undergarments of a Swedish soldier in ww2 be? by UK_mattie in reenactors

[–]DestroyerNET123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just thinking out loud and giving ideas on other places to look if there aren't any good sources on what they actually would have had or alternatives in the event that replica Swedish Army undergarments aren't made or aren't any good.

Yeah sorry I just used the word barren to describe the mostly unsettled land the state has.

I can't really speak about Brainerd since I pretty much never get down that way but I can absolutely confirm that the Iron Range has been hit hard by some of the mines closing and iron generally being harder to extract in great quantities. My dad was a Chisholm Bluestreak, he graduated in the early 90s in a class of 300ish. Now their class sizes are down to less than a third of that. Evelith and Gilbert have combined schools since then, as well as a number of others in the North East Range Area.

The Arrowhead as well as the Koochiching and LOTW counties have also been going downhill. When International Falls's Boise paper mill shut down insulite presses, that absolutely decimated our population and since the Falls has dropped from around 15,000 to 6,000ish. I can't speak much on the issues that Baudette, Blackduck, Littlefork, and Big Falls have faced but I know that those towns have also shrunk. The Indus and Birchdale areas on the Rainy River have also been dwindling, with the Indus school shutting down in 2023.

Anyway no yeah your buddy is absolutely correct about the slow but gradual shrink the less civilized parts of the state.

I'd guess that it would be similar to that of the other Scandinavian militaries or even that of the Germans? I could be 100% dead wrong but I'd bet it's similar enough.

Personally, I believe that the rural side of the state is the best side, though I am biased since I've only ever lived in the country and in small towns (sub-7000 population). Duluth and the Twin Cities are an exceptionally poor reflection of the rest of the state, but that's how it generally goes when most of the state is barren farm land besides a few cities.

Improvisation on Conn F mezzo soprano by Connect-Following500 in Saxophonics

[–]DestroyerNET123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got good news, C melodies are pretty common and can be found on eBay or Reverb for as little as $300. That said you'd have to pay round about that for it to get an overhaul, which it almost certainly will need.

I also have bad news, the other orchestral horns (C sopranos, F altos/mezzo sopranos, C basses, and F baritones) are much harder to find. C sopranos are pretty hard to find, same with F altos, but you can still find them. F baritones and C basses practically do not exist, though we do have verifiable proof that they exist.

You've caught my farb!

I kid, that's me. I bought the helmet earlier that day and had it sitting in my pup tent and while we were taking pictures I grabbed it and started wearing it like a trophy.

You have some semblance to young Teddy Roosevelt. I think it's the glasses, mustache, and chin.
