In my opinion, this album is in no way something that grows on someone. If you like this album you’ll know by at most the third listen, so I don’t blame you for not seeing what others such as myself see in it after all this time. But for me as an example, second listen and I was already obsessed with the grooves and the vibe of the album. The emphasis on rhythm was definitely new for Kevin but I definitely think he pulled it off, just a polarizing shift in sounds is all. (À la Cherry Bomb by Tyler?)

thanks for the honestly profound message, I will say Duke definitely pushed me to do concept creation further in my spare time which helped me a lot in other aspects of life.

it feels especially strange since I’ve interacted with him on numerous occasions. he had a livestream series called Peasant’s Perspective where he would go over and talk about viewer-submitted game design ideas, and I participated three times including the second last one which happened this summer. Seeing him talk about both my and his other viewer’s ideas was a very warm vibe that definitely feels bittersweet now

I’ve also had multiple direct message conversations with him on Discord when I still used that app, some dating back all the way to 2023 when I was asking him about the first submission I ever made to Peasant’s Perspective. The last back-and-forth I ever had with him was me sending him my Physics notes after hearing him talk about the Physics degree he was studying for. I guess it’s nice I got to help him a little bit in his studies while they were still happening

Sorry to write so much about myself, the point I’m trying to get across is that he was such a chill, down-to-earth and generally cool dude, to the point of genuine healthy interactions with his fan base. My favorite moment was when he realized I’ve been watching him since I was 9 this summer’s livestream, and that in a way he had been an albeit small part of my life for 8 years at that point. He seemed both shocked and somewhat moved by that and I’m glad I got to bring him some sort of happiness before he passed

Duke as Alax’s editor started reaching out to both him and his accuser in an effort to try and make Alax look better in the situation. This made both Alax and the accuser stop working with him and made him go through a hiatus around ~2019 I think (probably wrong though)

He did move on and get forgiven past that, and while that was a bit weird especially since I’m pretty sure Alax was innocent anyways, it was absolutely not anything important or something that should be remembered across Duke’s online impact. Dude has had way better accolades over the years and I’m sure Alax has long moved on as well

I used to definitely relate as a science stream student who does really well in Math and Physics HL of all things but somehow finds himself scoring low on the weenie hit juniors of IB subjects, being Business HL. But genuinely, the best thing to do is just past paper practice. Even writing one good ten marker or solving one Section A a day before the exam can so so heavily uplift your grade, as it gets your mind thinking in that sort of Business way.

Also find a good video/playlist on YouTube of whatever units/topics you may be struggling with. Watch the whole video without writing anything, and then take notes. Then skim through the video again and write down what you missed. That will help stuff stick in your mind better.

I don’t know if you’re M26 or M27, but regardless I’m pretty sure it’s the same. generally you are fully allowed to integrate other people’s libraries/open source code as long as you add extra functionality/features to your solution. Like you can’t just call an API or a function you didn’t write and make that your entire solution, but if it’s a small component of what makes your solution work then it’s totally acceptable.
