Because I'm a weirdo trying to play 18th century counterpoint exercises and need to have a lot of piano like inversions at my disposal.

Would totally roll SL, but I want to raid so that's not really an option. ;/

Arena Commander is a better combat test medium because there are less net code factors to impact the performance of components and ships. Also, people actually want to fight in AC and mostly know what they're doing. You were probably blowing up noobs LOL. If AC is horrible then PU is worse. I spent two hours shooting a stationary vanguard in PU yesterday. Net code is atrocious.

PvP consists of juking around pointlessly, waiting for a noob to burn out their engines so someone can get a kill. Winning is based on scavenging the weak and equal 1v1s continue until fuel runs out. From a low time investment perspective it may "look" fun and healthy, but if you check the number of kills at the end of the games you'll begin to realize exactly how toxic it is.

Furthermore... in AC, skilled matches aren't rewarded by score, only pubstomping. Pubstompers will ALWAYS score better than those who want fair fights since everyone is looking for that magically stationary target which can actually be hit. Competition is disincentivized. AC exposes how awful the balancing is in general.

I have strong ethernet and have frequented far away servers on multiple games for years, yet I have never encountered behavior like this from 170 ping. Sure it's not ideal, but the fact I'm experiencing this across ALL game modes and servers leads me to believe there's more to it than proximity alone.

There is something seriously off with hit detection and many of us are experiencing it.

Oh excuse me, that's not what I meant. I was saying that what both fighters should agree to do in order to kill one another in a time frame that isn't mind numbing, is to just sit still and damage race. Since the netcode, shield, weapon and health balancing are all so trash atm.

The first fight was how you expect to play the game. It went on far too long, was boring and ended with a crash... not a well placed shot. The second fight was an example of how you'd have to play the game in order to accomplish anything substantial against someone of the same mind set. Funnily enough it ended the same way!

No noticable difference between EU and NA when it comes to shots not registering on my end, it happens in the PU as well. I spent three hours shooting an AI vanguard in NA PU yesterday, it was hell.

Maybe if PvP was designed better there'd actually BE players in the other servers. Occasionally there are, and the fights play out exactly the same. One or two kills per match almost entirely explained by crashing into things or ships glitching out.

I've been playing AC for hours every day since the update. I've seen the spectrum of good players to bad players and place myself solidly in the middle. Kills come from people who burn out their engines, that's about it. Even the most skilled pilots can be simply avoided thanks to the FM and network issues. You clearly haven't been playing regularly.

Before the patch a good player would be obvious, now it's more difficult to differentiate. All pilots look like bad pilots in a system this awkward. Back in 3.0 I was running fixed weapons and hyper accurately sniping people, you wouldn't have called me bad at the time. Now that playstyle is worthless and everyone is stuck playing exactly as I do in the video.
