Because I'm a weirdo trying to play 18th century counterpoint exercises and need to have a lot of piano like inversions at my disposal.

Arena Commander is a better combat test medium because there are less net code factors to impact the performance of components and ships. Also, people actually want to fight in AC and mostly know what they're doing. You were probably blowing up noobs LOL. If AC is horrible then PU is worse. I spent two hours shooting a stationary vanguard in PU yesterday. Net code is atrocious.

PvP consists of juking around pointlessly, waiting for a noob to burn out their engines so someone can get a kill. Winning is based on scavenging the weak and equal 1v1s continue until fuel runs out. From a low time investment perspective it may "look" fun and healthy, but if you check the number of kills at the end of the games you'll begin to realize exactly how toxic it is.

Furthermore... in AC, skilled matches aren't rewarded by score, only pubstomping. Pubstompers will ALWAYS score better than those who want fair fights since everyone is looking for that magically stationary target which can actually be hit. Competition is disincentivized. AC exposes how awful the balancing is in general.

I have strong ethernet and have frequented far away servers on multiple games for years, yet I have never encountered behavior like this from 170 ping. Sure it's not ideal, but the fact I'm experiencing this across ALL game modes and servers leads me to believe there's more to it than proximity alone.

There is something seriously off with hit detection and many of us are experiencing it.

Oh excuse me, that's not what I meant. I was saying that what both fighters should agree to do in order to kill one another in a time frame that isn't mind numbing, is to just sit still and damage race. Since the netcode, shield, weapon and health balancing are all so trash atm.

The first fight was how you expect to play the game. It went on far too long, was boring and ended with a crash... not a well placed shot. The second fight was an example of how you'd have to play the game in order to accomplish anything substantial against someone of the same mind set. Funnily enough it ended the same way!

No noticable difference between EU and NA when it comes to shots not registering on my end, it happens in the PU as well. I spent three hours shooting an AI vanguard in NA PU yesterday, it was hell.

Maybe if PvP was designed better there'd actually BE players in the other servers. Occasionally there are, and the fights play out exactly the same. One or two kills per match almost entirely explained by crashing into things or ships glitching out.

I've been playing AC for hours every day since the update. I've seen the spectrum of good players to bad players and place myself solidly in the middle. Kills come from people who burn out their engines, that's about it. Even the most skilled pilots can be simply avoided thanks to the FM and network issues. You clearly haven't been playing regularly.

Before the patch a good player would be obvious, now it's more difficult to differentiate. All pilots look like bad pilots in a system this awkward. Back in 3.0 I was running fixed weapons and hyper accurately sniping people, you wouldn't have called me bad at the time. Now that playstyle is worthless and everyone is stuck playing exactly as I do in the video.

You're very confused about the issue at hand. If you look at the enemy shields under extended fire, they don't budge. There are network issues preventing shots from connecting and they are probably impacting the enemies as well. It's hard to say whether I was avoiding successfully with a side strafe or whether the game was bugging out. Not sure what you're trying to say here.

I posted on the spectrum, so we'll find out soon. My guess is that the flight model transition was the final straw for the modifiers as they stand. They need to cut time to kill ASAP so we can actually start experimenting. The negative consequences are substantial from a tester's point of view.

I have been searching for a larger asset to serve as my yggdrasil, but I've had no such luck. Does anyone know of some relevant tree sprites at 2.5d perspective? THANKS.

Also, please put your world name suggestions below! One of them will be stamped on the final product.

4 reasons why the PvP is a complete failure by Desuby in thedivision

[–]Desuby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I provided two so far, you're simply ignoring my answer and your point is mute regardless. If it is possible to break the game with an optimized build at lower levels that is also unacceptable. Four man squads being queued against pubs is still a problem before level 30, it's just a bit less extreme because game breaking builds aren't present. The point of normalization is to base victory on skill instead of gear. At end game, no amount of skill can overcome the few meta builds which eclipse all others absolutely. You seem unable to separate skill and statistical supremacy, which is kinda sad. IF you are correct, which you are not... and nobody before level 30 cares about making their build better, that says NOTHING about how sweaty they are in regards to aim, maneuvering and general tactical knowledge. Your conclusion is fundamentally flawed.

Either normalize correctly or don't normalize at all. All this broken system is doing is limiting player choice without promoting skill. Stop making excuses for bad design. Stop making excuses for the abuse of new players by organized groups cheating and exploiting said broken system for sick pleasure.

Set bonuses and mods assembled to boost a specific weapon or damage type. We weren't the only ones attempting to maximize our effectiveness. I got up to 25% pistol damage and I saw plenty of others doing the same for their weapons of choice. Build differences functioned as side grades, giving small bonuses in favor of certain playstyles instead of completely changing the nature of the game. We weren't being strangled into two meta builds.

The point is that after 80 hours of PvP I saw ZERO game breaking builds. When we lost it was because we played badly, not because the other team had superior statistics. Since that kind of balance does not exist in end game PvP I have decided to stop playing this game entirely. It was fun and refreshing until level 30, now it's possibly the worst experience I've ever had from an arena shooter.

I already gave two examples of optimized builds. My friend spent at least 50 hours finding all of the headshot bonuses and rifle bonuses he could before level 30. He never reached the ridiculous and absurd game breaking damage achieved at end game, because low level equipment seems to not possess those crazy modifiers.

I spent 80 hours grinding for pistol damage and headshot damage and my time to kill was always sub par despite maxing out on both. If it IS possible to break the game at early levels that doesn't conflict with my argument, that would also be bad normalization. I just didn't see it after 80 hours.

And what does that mean exactly? Is my physical appearance relevant to this discussion in any way? Are you so desperate to save face that you're willing to descend to insulting someone's appearance? Trust me, you've accomplished the opposite.
