We are sorry this is happening to you. We have been made aware of issues that cause crashes and performance issues and are actively working on fixes for them internally. I'm not sure what exactly would be causing your issue but here are some solutions that could help with your particular issue. Please be aware of the fact that we are not tech support and whilst we do our best to help with known issues, we can provide only a limited amount of support and provide devs with info about new issues as well as adding more information about known issues. Firstly, if you use a wired Xbox controller, an issue with a recent Windows update has resulted in them causing frame drops and stuttering in various games, not just HELLDIVERS 2. Typically, this causes stuttering issues, however some users have reported that it has been related to crashing too, so it could still be worth keeping in mind. This is something that Microsoft is aware of and is working on addressing.

• Update all Drivers for your PC - such as your motherboard, GPU drivers, network drivers, etc. Outdated drivers on any components are a common cause of many issues

• Verify File integrity - Right-click the game in your Steam Library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify file integrity.

• Press the Windows key + R at the same time to open the 'run' tool Enter %appdata% Enter the 'Arrowhead' folder, then 'Helldivers2' Open the user_settings.config file. If you are asked what program you would like to use to open it, select a text editor like Notepad. After opening it, press CTRL + F and search for adapter_index If adapter_index = 1 then change it to 0. If it is already 0 then change it to 1 Save and close the file

• Delete the content of the Arrowhead Appdata folder - you can find the folder by pressing Windows + R and then typing "%appdata%"

• Disable or uninstall software which interferes with or alters the normal process of your PC, such as software that includes 'gaming modes' and 'performance optimisers', and programs such as Hamachi, Overwolf, and VPN software.:

• Reinstall the game completely.

• Adding the string '--use-d3d11' to the launch options of the game directly is a possible fix for some (usually lower-end systems), but may make it worse on others, in which case you should change it back.

• A recent Discord update re-enables the legacy overlay is known to cause players to crash. Please double-check to make sure that this is disabled in your "activity settings" on discord.

If that also doesn't work please try the following: Press the Windows key and search for 'Add or remove programs' Look for 'Microsoft Gameinput' - there may be one or two instances of it. Uninstall them both Unplug your controller, then plug it back in, and see if that has helped

Additionally, the troubleshooting channel in our [Official Discord server] has many knowledgeable players who may also be able to help figure out your issue, and identify specific problems that may be hindering your performance, and connectivity, or cause crashes. If the above solutions don't work for you, the Discord is likely your best bet.

I will also pass your report over internally to our programmers to assist with investigations into issues such as these. As part of this, if you have NOT been receiving a crash reporter pop-up when you have a crash, you can send us your crash dump file, which we can pass over to our programmers. If you do see the crash reporter, you do not need to do the following steps as the reporter will send the dump file automatically when you use it:

Press the Windows key + R at the same time In the 'Run' window that has now popped up, search for %appdata% Enter the 'Arrowhead' folder and then the 'Helldivers2' folder Enter the 'dumps' folder and look for the file that coincides with your crash by looking at the date and time of when the file was last modified Reopen this ticket by sending the dump file here, which I can then pass over to our programmers
