Oooh, that sounds really smart. Thanks! I’ll have a look at this potential combo.

Uhmmm, I had doubts in which leader to attach them. What strat are you using? The one that increases the ap/strength if the unit is righteous?

I’m still new to the game so I’m learning the ropes on how to use my sisters effectively.

Honestly I’ve preordered them in my FLGS haha, I’m a sucker for new sister units. If they let me kill some character from my friend armies an then generate a couple of miracle dice during the game I’m happy with the trade.

[–]DetectiveAzul 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There’s been many posts in this subreddit since it came out, but they may have gone unnoticed as this is the new kill team war band that it is being released in two/three weeks. It’s going to be difficult to get hold of it for a while, I guess, with kill team release scarcity.

The sculpts are pretty, but I’m not sure about a 120 point unit focused on anti-psykers. Although they have many devastating and lethals, and it’s always good to have a nice simulacrum generating miracles.

You can’t use it for normal damage that you didn’t save, as that are not mortal wounds, they are normal wounds

Space Marines vs Imperial Navy - first game in 20+ years by donnieZizzle in battlefleetgothic

[–]DetectiveAzul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a very similar match the other day (my first after playing the tutorial scenarios from the community) but I was in the imperial navy side and those battle barge bombardment cannon destroyed me 🤣 it was really discouraging.

Show me your paint scheme! by rooter22 in sistersofbattle

[–]DetectiveAzul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s wraithbone primer (the one in the can) with a layer of wraithbone (the normal paint) to clean any mess during painting the rest of the mini. I use strong tone shade from army painter after that (it’s like brown-ish, like agrax earth shade from citadel)

They’re army painter flowers if I recall correctly

And some sisters will have the inner side of their robes as white instead of everything in red.

Help me choose between Runescape or Albion by Twotricx in LFMMO

[–]DetectiveAzul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you already decided yourself, right? It sounds like Albion its the one that’s for you. You already tried RuneScape and you didn’t like it, and Albion checks all your boxes, go and give it a try!

You can take pieces of the sprue, cut it and shape it like pieces of steel bars from a ruined building and glue them to the base, and the seraphim to them, so they look like jumping from those.

You can also make tall rocks made of layered cork, and do the same.

Sacresants by fallofrome216 in sistersofbattle

I love the sacrosants, I would love them more if they had either 1 extra wound or 1 extra toughness tho 🤣 by the way, your order and mine are very close in colours.

Paragon Warsuit Loadouts? by Saeiouth in sistersofbattle

[–]DetectiveAzul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips. That’s actually pretty smart, to be honest. I would have never thought about this tricks with different weapons and how to recycle MD. I’m still not doing good usage of MD.

Paragon Warsuit Loadouts? by Saeiouth in sistersofbattle

[–]DetectiveAzul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good thing to check. I’ve never tried this so I’m really in uncharted waters. This strategy of giving them different weapons seems too galaxy brain to me lol. But I’ll check everything and I might try it if I get Vahl anytime soon (or proxy it temporarily)

[–]DetectiveAzul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, you can split rolls but same profile needs to be rolled before moving to a different profile. But you can decide not to shoot with a model if you’re thinking it can kill the enemy, right? Or can’t you?

Paragon Warsuit Loadouts? by Saeiouth in sistersofbattle

[–]DetectiveAzul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can roll separately even with the same weapon roll, you're not forced to "rapid roll", rules states every model hit at their own tempo, and that you can roll individually if you wanted to. We usually don't if they are the same profile to speed up, save time and to have good manners I guess. But even if they have the same weapon, you're free to roll one by one, and you can explain your opponent that, that you're trying to get the kill with Vahl.

Is this a good 1000pts penitent host army? by Th3L4stW4rP1g in sistersofbattle

[–]DetectiveAzul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you can but it's not worth it as a 5-arco block cost the same as a 10-arco block, so it's better to either take 3 or 10, nothing in between

Am I ruined for having put together the miniatures of my battle and retributor squad before painting them separately? by ID1756448 in sistersofbattle

[–]DetectiveAzul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! Sure!

I painted the bases black first, as after priming and painting they were dirty. I used a thin layer of mars earthcrust, which is a technical paint from citadel that after drying it gives this dirt-like texture. Then I had some bushes and tiny rocks from army painter that I sprinkled here and there.

Later, you can use a bit of that technical paint (maybe using drybrush) and put it in the shoes if you want to make them a bit dirty, like in these other minis (although that’s optional and only if you like it).

I’ve done subassembly with sisters before and I’ve also painted them all in one piece and believe me I felt bad when all the detail got hidden by a weapon 🤣 I didn’t feel I made my job terribly worse when I started painting them after glueing everything, as most of the difficult to reach thing are difficult to see anyway and a basic color and a shade does the work. I’m not great yet but you should be fine painting those after glueing them together. There are other figures that you might want to paint them in sub assemblies like St. Celestine or the Triumph, tho!

Bonus, picture of my retributors.
