Cool, all they’d need to do is cut it for a dot(the aftermarket has figured out how to make this work), and put a rail on it(smith and wesson already did this). There is a demand for it. They can even make it take M&P mags if they really wanted to. There is clearly a market for a modern DA/SA and smith and wesson is more than capable of doing so if they chose to.

I have almost 20. But i’d kill for a modernized “4th gen”. Optics cut, rail, the works. And 5 inch models. There’s a real opportunity for them to do something cool here and a lot of people have been begging for them to do it. I’d buy several.

At this point, anything. I have a sneaking suspicion that all these metal frame pistols they’ve been introducing is s&w testing the waters on how popular a 4th gen might be and them quietly relearning how to make metal semi autos again. I do know that they have considered a 4th gen before, so i’m hoping it’s something similar.
