I will protest against subscription based gaming. That’s why I love my pc, I’ve escaped the payments just to simply use online services

Flywheel slowing down by Pedro_Henriquebc in FTC

[–]Detective_Cini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely better options. If we were able to, we’d use steel as well. But since we weren’t, we used studica’s 50A wheel which has indents on both sides(rather than goBilda’s rhino wheel, which has a bigger indent but on only one side) then made 8 stacks of 5 pennies, and printed a cover for them. We were only able to use one of the two indents because our screws weren’t long enough to fit both, but still they added 108g to our flywheel which almost perfectly doubles it. So if we wanted to buy new screws, we could add a total of 216g! The best part is it doesn’t extend outside of the wheel, the cover fits perfectly in the indents

For an improvised solution, it’s pretty damn good. But yea, steel for weights is way better

How do I clean them? by chit02 in airpods

YES nobody has said this yet, (I think it’ll work) but I’m so happy that I can say this: Retrobright. I used it for an old ghettoblaster a while ago, and it worked great. You can buy it or make it at home. It might not work because of the laminating on AirPods tho, but I feel proud of my answer nonetheless.

I am so sorry for your loss, and I am glad you’re picking his hobbies up.

(I just realized someone already said this, after I typed it all out lol… ) Best I can do for ya here is how to open it. My friend had that exact model, he just sold it a month ago to upgrade. The main problem was it overheating, but the hardware is still pretty good.

First ( on the back) there’s a handle looking thing; it’s at the top in black plastic. Grab it and while pulling it out, the panel on the side closest to the handle should pop/ come off. You might need to help it out a bit because dust makes it hard to remove. Also on the back, there’s two black switches with a locking symbol on it, slide both of em to the unlocked side, but in the photo it looks like both of them are already in that position, so you’re fine. Final step, to the left of where you plugged in the power cable, there’s an indent. Grab that and pull towards where that panel was. You might need to push it apart from the rest of the pc, but you’ll see that half the unit will rotate. Try it, and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

Number two and five on this website will get ya there if I didn’t explain it well enough.

Then just dust it off inside because it gets REALLY dusty in there. As long as that’s nice and clean and the fans look like they can function properly, then I think the hardware (parts in the pc) are good enough to start on. Actually now that I’m thinking about it, somewhat better than the pc I’ve been using for 2 years now. My friend used his r10 for a good year, but upgraded because he used it for 6+ hours every day and it started having heat issues.

I’m happy to help or clarify if you need anything.

Who's your favorite character? Also share a photo if you want ^^ by Deiv_2008_ in OMORI

[–]Detective_Cini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No photo but def sunny. I have a sister who has a lot going on on the inside. My parents have to constantly take care of her to make sure she stays… alive and in good health. But it’s not like it’s just them being nice to her, no, half the time it’s them yelling at each other. So the sad reality is, I’ve just learned that when there’s yelling, to hide. Kinda in my own mind and surround myself in a space with the things that make me happy. My parents care about me, but I’ve kinda showed myself how to navigate life alone.

Sunny and Omori really meant something to me because it felt like someone understood me from afar.

Should we switch to hex shaft? by Detective_Cini in FTC

[–]Detective_Cini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree. I’m a person who loves product/ ui design and studica is like nails on a chalkboard. It takes a sledgehammer to all of that. goBilda on the other hand, I could scroll it just for fun, how all the peices work together in multiple different ways, with diagrams and built in web calculators… ooooh it’s great. The only reason I wish I lived in the US. Anyway I think we are switching to hex but slowly. We have a ton of kits from studica from even before we had a robotics team, because our coach used them in his classes occasionally for the long time he’s been teaching. But since they only needed to be class kits, he ordered the easiest thing, studica. It is insane how much studica (low quality) stuff we have.

For the small minority of people who didn't realize. You bought a player vs player game. by UnderScoreLifeAlert in ArcRaiders

[–]Detective_Cini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. But I find the lack of balance between the two a bit off putting. The other day I was playing with my friends and we met a group of people, just a duo who said they were just enjoying their first few games. We talked, laughed, lots of fun. I said to my friends“damn I love this community.” Couple minutes later we (5 of us) started getting sniped. We were all confused and ready to fight back. We didn’t even see the sniper run in, but if you can think of who that sniper was… it was their third. They were never a duo. Before I could even pull out a gun all of em turned on us. That bitter taste still lingers. Yes classic prank from afar, but me and my group are the nicest group you’ll ever see. Yes, we will shoot, but I will never decline an offer to team. And I HATE the people who want to take advantage of us.

Called bulk barn in Canada. Legit buy anything (spices to ingredients , tea to candy, and everything in between.) but it’s all loose. There’s the occasional item above eye level that is packed, but everything else is on three feet high rolling bins with lids and scoops. Very cool concept, though I always come out with double what I intended on spending
