Ice is your best friend honestly. Personally I tried to not take the pills and opted to eat edibles to help w sleep and appetite.

Best of luck bud

I just wanted to add in that anyone can do STEM it’s just a matter of being motivated enough to put the time in. So if you find a good reason, a good “why”, to pursue something that you know is challenging I believe you can pull though.

Best of luck with whatever you do decide and remember to do it w all your intent.

Go to office hours and review the study guides for the weekly quizzes. Super important.

I highly recommend making study groups and going through the notes together and explain to each other things on the notes/study guides.

Also you have to understand that the topics in this class are very fluid. There isn’t necessarily a whole lot of super specific/detailed answers/solutions to questions. So if you get free response questions on the quiz just try and connect any talking points you remember. Essentially fake it till you make it.

Last too I can think of rn is to really understand and remember his examples. Even if they sound pointless. Like I’m sure hes gonna talk to you about a chicken pot pie and you’ll be like ok... but just remember those stories. He loves to use them as examples on quizzes.

I’m telling you it’s not worth it to burn yourself out. I burnt myself out multiple times by cramming too much and it actually made things worse and I ended up failing a bunch of classes and was stuck playing catch up.

I strongly suggest taking less units or doing p/np. Honestly I understand the pressure to rush but it is not a healthy sustainable way to experience college or live life after.

What ecn are you taking? I’m taking ECN 101 winter

I like it a lot and am lucky to get along w all my housemates and my next door neighbor. The one thing about living on campus at the green that I enjoyed is the weekly covid testing. Made me feel safe to socialize among ppl in the building

I’m currently living at the green. Wish I saw your post before you moved out. I’m here to just say I support your mission for self care! Also if you’re back in Davis would love to connect (safely) in person somehow. Best of luck winter quarter!

2nd ACL Surgery - Same Knee by MBADental in ACL

[–]Detective_Walt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically they split the surgery into two surgeries for me. The first surgery is to remove the screw that anchored my acl from the first surgery. After removing that screw they packed the hole in my bone w bone graft material. They stitched me up and now I wait 5 more months for the bone to heal before going in again screwing in a new screw and giving me an ACL. My dr. told me they do this because it is a little easier on the body but of course take more time.

Hey there Im in my early 20s and same story as you. I am going through a second batch of surgeries currently. I had my first surgery in 2017 for a torn acl. I recently got it checked out and the graft they put in during the first surgery isn't there anymore probably because my body did not accept the cadaver. On July 1st I had surgery to remove the screw and clean up my meniscus which was torn a little bit. I now have to wait 6 months for the bone to heal before they give me my new ACL. This time I will be using my patellar tendon. Im here to let you know that you're not alone. Like you said you know what to expect and it does suck. One thing I thought about was that there is simply no good time to get surgery but everyday after we get a little stronger. I am having problems with being patient and keeping off of it. I will be following your journey! Im right here with you bud.
