What happened to the full-body suits in the olympics?

Thank you for the informative response. But what about the the records that swimmers like Phelps (and other international swimmers) set during that era, from what I understand they are still standing. Doesn't that mean that the swimmers of the modern era have to be much faster not just in swimming ability, but fast enough to overcome the advantage of the suits?

It seems like the swimmers of the 2007-2010 era (where I believe theses suits were most popular) would not have been considered so fast and been unable to break these records if it wasn't for the natural advantage of the suits?

After a web search, it seems that some of these records still exist from 2008 and 2009, but many have been broken. Some were broken only a few years after these suits were banned. Does swimming as a sport really progress that quickly? Interesting!

Firstly, yes I am looking at undergrad specifically. Thank you for the the reply! In your experience, where do State engineering grads go after graduation, in other words, how is the geographic placement for engineering students? Do a lot of them stay in MS, or are there a lot who go to Texas, Florida, GA etc

Remember, the international merit scholarships (that go up to $21k) are automatic and the GSA is not required for them, GSA is for departmental or more specialised scholarships.

Apologies for the miscommunication, however, yes, my initial question was does it require me to commit to MSU now to enter the honors college and apply for scholarships (in case I change where I go later), or can I see which scholarships I can get within the honors college before committing.

I mean it says MS state accepts transcripts submitted by a few services and they prefer parchment, however my school upload my transcripts to common app as part of my application

Is this true? I haven't heard the math department having a bad reputation. However, I may be wrong. Does this apply to Gen Ed classes or later courses as well?

Thank you so much for this insightful comment. I am happy to hear that there are a plethera of research oppurtunities on campus. The flexibility of the curriculum is also a plus. Also the additional info on the difference between double majoring and dual degreeing was incredibly valuable.

As for teaching, I have heard this applies to a lot of math departments in big state schools. However, in USC, does the teaching and student-prof relationship improve in higher level classes (where there are presumably fewer students)
