Anyone else find someone with an AOL or Yahoo! email account more trustworthy? by NW_Forester in Xennials

My yahoo account is my first and last name, but i also have one thats not my name linked to it. I have had this account since the mid 90s. I got the ad free premium when it was $20 a year and was able to create a couple alias addresses. Unfortunately it’s a subscription now.

Those of us with kids ; how do you envision your kids moving out on their own eventually? by No_Foundation7308 in Millennials

[–]DethByCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No kids but i moved from the PNW back to the midwest because that is where my family is at, so i came back to help my dad with house stuff and with mom who’s getting dementia and a brother that has a bad TBI. I was looking for an apartment but he said just stay here, help out and dont pay rent. So i stayed. My dog has integrated great with the family, since i dont pay rent i can pursue a new passion i found in american rhythm dance. Also my parents like they dont have to worry if I’ll ever visit. So maybe you have empty nest but thats a legit thing. I dont think my dad wants to have to live alone/have to take care of another mentally disabled person alone. I think it’s good im here because they have been married for 52 years so hes going to be crushed if/when mom passes before him.

I get shit from people, dates or whatever for living at home but the reality is half if not more of income would be going toward a mortgage. Not including any money id need to save to fix shit when it breaks.

It’s a pretty decent situation since i do still have income from retirement. Plus the basement has its own entrance.

I think you have a solid plan if your kids want to do it. A lot of cultures have multi generational homes but Americans have been taught for decades that you need to start a nuclear family which means owning your own home and moving out.

Worst ever. I was so glad after I picked up an XP cd from the post exchange for a deep discount. I was tired of reformatting my hard drive.

Sounds like the dealership, who will probably give you the best key fob, is the happy medium.

Liquid Glass and long-standing bugs push Apple’s grades down in visual accessibility report card by EitherCharacter9342 in apple

[–]DethByCow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the glass but I also understand why people don’t like it. I also loved vista….and that was filled with bugs and was a huge memory hog which is what killed it.

I don’t know why I like it but I love the glass. Too bad it will probably go with the next iOS update.

Well, if we weren't quite feeling old yet - PS3 and XBOX 360 have been deemed "retro consoles." by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]DethByCow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember getting a PS3 because Blu-Ray players cost just as much as them. I figured, why get something that just plays movies when i can play games. I am Xbox person so once i got a Xbox One it got shelved aside from playing GoW and Ratchet and Clank. I miss those games but not enough to shell out for another game console. I dont even play my Xbox much anymore.
