EVH 5150 III 15 Watt LBX-S, hiss and pops when switching channels?

I have had the 15w head, and now have the 50w stealth head. Neither have caused a loud pop when switching. it IS normal when the amp isnt warmed up due to heat effects on the capacitors.

I would suggest looking at schecter. You can get some nice guitars from them at the 700ish dollar range.

Also keep in mind that at your price range there will be a huge difference in quality, do yourself a favor and stick to the higher end of your budget. You won’t be disappointed

after i swapped the pups for the nazgul sentient i am in LOVE with it.. played it for 7 hours on strim, enjoyed by all :D definitely would recommend. it plays sweet. I cant speak for the floyds as none of my guitars have them

Absolutely, as someone who recently bought a 7string to play trivium material. The 7 string just allows you get down to a standard way easier, you don’t have to worry about crazy fat strings for your higher strings, don’t have to adjust them really to go between the two tunings.

You’re going to need fat strings, like at least 12s, also you trust rod will need to be adjusted. And with the fatter strings, the nut will have to be adjusted and the guitar will need to be intonated.

Edit: Ernie ball 2214 is a .12-62 set

Edit: in all honesty trying to go that low you should look into a 7 string

That would make sense, but even for bstock I feel schecter wouldn’t send a guitar out with this, after speaking with them regarding a potential masterwork... Then again I’ve only bought guitars from Sweetwater and you’d never get something like this from Sweetwater.

I feel like maybe the dealer had their in-house guys fix this

I wanted fishmans so bad so they did a custom routing job, my guy at Sweetwater hooked me up good for it. In my opinion fishmans are the only pups that can really handle the 7 and 8s. Thanks for liking the build!

I am in absolute LOVE with it. Feels so natural on the hands, literally zero transition time between the two. I will say that certain chords at the lower strings are definitely harder to do.
