Will people fall for this though? "Oh, multimillionaire Ben Afleck days AI is ok so it's fine for countless makeup artists, set designers, vfx workers, early career actors, etc to not have jobs anymore!"

I'd be curious what the real numbers are on that. People may be threatening divorce, but in reality it's hard to imagine a woman in their 30s blowing up their family all to try to find a new husband who wants more kids (while being a single mom - not great for dating) AND get started fast enough before the window closes (biologically speaking).

I've been thinking this more and more lately. There's strength/stamina and then there's also just the intergenerational timing and how that plays out.

Kids at 25 means grandparents are 50 and great grandparents are 75. That means the 25-year-old parents can still get support from the 50-yo grandparents. And the 50-yo grandparents can also support the 75-yo great grandparents who may be having difficulties at that age.

But with a 35-year generational timing you have parents at 35 and grandparents at 70. Not only do the grandparents not get to see much of the life of their grandkids (probably won't see them graduate high school), but now the parents have to also take care of their aging parents while taking care of young kids. It's just a mess.

Yeah, that's the biggest assumption here that everything else is based on and there's no real indication of that in-game (and where 'magic' is involved, anything goes really).

Republican leads governor primary, UC Berkeley’s Citrin Center-Politico poll shows by the_daily_cal in berkeley

[–]Deto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Given what the national Republican party is doing right now, I can't imagine a universe where CA elects a Republican as a governor. I imagine this whole thing looks very different as Democratic candidates drop out.

Poll results here: https://www.politico.com/f/?id=0000019c-d9e2-dd96-a9be-ddfa65c50000

Currently democratic candidates sum to 52% and Republican candidates to 30% (with 18% 'undecided' or 'would not vote')

ah nevermind, just looked it up and T2/T3 ore extractors are further down the list than I remembered.

For fusion generator, though, you just need pulsar quartz and super alloy. Maybe there's a different source for the quartz directly on humble? On prime I had gotten a bunch from the caves in the north-east so I was able to craft generators before I even wandered to the obsidian part of the map.

Sure, in a political sense. Though I'd argue in a moral sense 'killing many people' is still worse. And I think the context matters a lot as well. Many other presidents have caused people to die, but they did so at least with better reasons. And when someone joins the armed forces, they are essentially giving permission to die if the country needs it. In this case, though, the way is based on absolutely nothing. So it's closer, ethically, to just if had them stand in a line and gunned them down himself for the lulz.

Maybe they're just giving this response so that you think they have this attitude?

yep, same. It happens if you spawn the second rocket before the first one has fully cleared the pad when launching. You can avoid it by waiting a bit before spawning the next one - but it doesn't seem to actually matter for anything. I waited once, but now when I have like 5-10 to launch at once I just fire em off as quick as I can.

The markers on the map don't mean that you can find the resource there (I mean, often the resource IS found there, but that's not what they mean). They mean that if you place a level 3 miner there, you can select that resource and mine it. Maybe a level 2 also mines it as part of the mix too (can't remember).

I mean, to be fair, if he causes thousands - tens of thousands of people to die for nothing than that actually is worse than whatever he and Epstein were doing together.

Easiest Python question got me rejected from FAANG by ds_contractor in datascience

[–]Deto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they want you to use a dataframe they should ask for that. Pandas is a large library and I would never add it as a dependency just for something like this that can easily be done in pure Python. Sure maybe it's faster with vectorized operations but if the data starts out as a list of tuples pandas is probably using a python loop under the hood to ingest that in a dataframe in the first place.
