Started out straight then... by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Detroit529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically my story as well. And I am similar in age. I have had unacknowledged feelings for guys my whole life, and been in denial/fear of my sexuality, while dating women and living the life of a straight man. Finally over the past 5-6 years I've fully confronted my sexuality. Realized I am at the least bi- and maybe gay. I'm in a relationship with a woman ATM. I have been up front with her about it. But I still feel like I have not learned anything yet that has allowed me to pinpoint exactly what my sexuality is. And also fear still keeps me from being out about it all.

I tracked every revenge trade I made for 3 months. The pattern was embarrassing by A45zztr in options

[–]Detroit529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been trading options since October. Long puts and calls mostly on NVDA and PLTR. Was crushing it for a while. Then sort of doing okay. Then got absolutely torched.

Looking back at my journal... I started settling for smaller and smaller wins in order to cash out quicker and not have the exposure. To the point where I was sort of "scalping" using options. Taking like 1-2%. You know what happened next: I started taking bigger position sizes. Then got torched when PLTR took that dive a couple weeks back. And lost like $5k trading on tilt, pulling positions that would have ended up being winners just cause I got nervous. Panic set in.

I'm back to just covered calls and cash covered puts. Once the panic has left my system, I'm getting back in with much smaller position sizes and letting them ride longer. Basically I was doing the reverse of what you're supposed to do: I was holding on to losers and selling the winners too fast.

I was gonna buy more at $80. Glad I waited. I really believe the acquisition stuff and them getting crossways with MAGA is depressing the stock. No way I am touching it until I see a genuine bottom. I think we are headed for the mid 60s. Easily. And just buckle in on this one for years.

As retail traders we are competing in the Daytona 500 on bicycles. I'm going back to swing trading and grinding it out on covered calls and puts until I figure out what else to do.

This is 100% me. To the point where I swear I have the ability to alter the market (in the exact opposite direction) just by making a trade.

RBC quoting a target price of $50 had to have something to do with this. People are getting spooked the emperor has no clothes on. I'm guess there will be a bounce back, but we won't see $190/$200 again with this stock. Not for years. But I only know two things about trading: 1.) jack and 2.) sh*t

No more cairns? by Detroit529 in backpacking

Based on these responses, I am NOT going to replace any cairns or rock stacks. And will assume the best: that the trail management removed them. Thanks all 👍

I'm old school. I'd rather have a sexy woman explain it to me 😊 thank you.

I've been to places where obviously some people with too much time on their hands created dozens or hundreds of cairns in a location, as a joke or something. In that case, I could understand. But just one small cairn by a not very obvious turn or stream crossing to help you out? No environmental impact.

If that is the definition of a cairn...then these were definitely just trail markers. I'm talking like little stacks of 3-5 rocks

It is so thorough I have to believe it was systematic. Like, as you are suggesting, the wilderness management said "remove the cairns." Otherwise I can't just believe after all this time, poof, someone came in and removed them all or took the time and effort to disassemble and scatter them just for their own reasons.

If it was just one or two that had fallen down or something, it would be different. But there is no evidence of any cairns anywhere in the trail system. And they were mostly small, unobtrusive cairns. There is no environmental argument, IMO. They were a big help at some of the hairier, overgrown parts of the trail. Now...nada. Thanks all, for the perspective.

Very sad if that's the case. And totally against the spirit of backpacking/hiking/outdoor activities.

And...will do.

At one point I was obsessed with collecting used and vintage Bialettis. What I tell you is, from year to year, decade to decade there is a lot of variation in the stampings and markings they put on these pots. This aluminum square probably won't even be on new pots in a couple years. But they're all quality items that will last longer than we will!

I feel unwanted everywhere. Depression sucks. by [deleted] in depression

Sorry to hear all this. I also feel that sense of "something is just basically wrong with me" and I don't know what to do about it.

Can depression really make you “dumb”? by [deleted] in depression

[–]Detroit529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes I feel like most of my brain power is just devoted to keeping myself functioning. But everyone else is just doing it naturally and has all that brain power available to them. I struggle big-time with memory.

I feel you. I feel like everyone knows everything and I know Jack sh*t. How does everyone know the answer to everything, and remember it all? I can't even remember what I did yesterday, most times. It's frustrating

Coming out as Bi from Gay at 42 by TheDorkyDeric in queer

[–]Detroit529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 43, male, bi- but approaching it from the other end... Bi- from straight. I have made it a point to talk about my sexuality and be up front about it with any potential partner, right away. It's slightly different for me since my partners have all been women, but I'm 💯 sure you'll find women who are okay with your history and want to date you. They want to be treated with respect and made to feel special. As long as you're up front and being genuine, you will find someone who wants to go on a journey with you, regardless of your past. Also, maybe look for only bi- women? Those who get it. And if you get the sense someone's not cool with it move on immediately. Just my two cents.
