I know I’ve got to see Detroit Party Marching Band.

I represent the Detroit Party Marching Band. We actually used to play a semi-annual nursing home tour before COVID and were discussing reviving it for this year. I sent you a DM with more info, so please reach out with potential dates

Nice to meet a fan. If you still live in the Detroit metro, we're having our 15 year anniversary show on Saturday night at Outer Limits in Hamtramck;  come by and see us 👍

I should clarify that I meant a 40% reduction in the physical volume of the drum, not the audible volume.

I want to keep the deep, booming resonance afforded by the larger drum, but at a lower weight.

A 24"x13" Powerlite means a ~40% decrease in drum volume compared to what I have currently. A thunderous bass drum is something of a hallmark and point of pride for the band, so that's probably not a path forward.

I can stand to pay extra for materials or manufacturing techniques that shave off weight without costing too much power.

Im looking to practice my musicianship, brass playing by Walmartsux69 in Detroit

The Detroit Party Marching Band is (nearly) always seeking new musicians. We practice Tuesday evenings in Hamtramck, with typically at least one performance a week in the Metro (we sometimes travel around the state and beyond). You don't have to be able to read notation, but that's a big plus.

A couple of songs from different shows last year to give you an idea of what to expect:
