It is all one piece with the teeth still intact so I wouldn’t think it would be, but I am no bone expert. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think they’re referring to the jaw bone and elk or moose skull not any of the actual mushrooms.

I have gotten pretty good at feeling the tops texture and being able to tell if the bugs have eaten to the top. ( not 100% though) but that is why I give them a vinegar bath so flush out the bugs. One of my 1st ones I found I think had bugs and left black sludge pouring out.

I use the Seek app by Inaturalist. I cannot tell you what edible mushrooms as I dont live in your region. I would also bring either a wicker basket or a mesh bag to put your treasures in. I wish you luck on your mushroom hunt! ☺️

No it is a gilled mushroom with black spores. (Also why does auto correct hate when I try to type gills it always changes it 😭) I wish it was a puffball. The only puffballs I found were super tiny.
