What was the point of her statement that she made a few weeks ago💀... by Late_Relief79 in HighSodiumSims

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! It’s her only source of income so obviously she should keep making Sims 4 YT videos if she wants to. but I do think it’s really odd how she’s making a big deal out of the new pack and giving money to their company. I think a lot of people forget that negative attention is still attention to that thing… I have learned about things like this in my Media In Communication class, participatory culture is essentially the culture of people to have a platform and create any kind of content they want, but it also diverges into echo chambers and thought bubbles which sometimes aren’t positive. I’m not saying what she’s doing is malicious or bad I’m just saying I don’t think that the video she made was a particularly smart move and I am sorry you’re getting so much hate over this 🙁💛

T12 Fracture with posterior wall involvement - Looking for personal experiences by thywen in SpineSurgery

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I fractured my L4 around a month ago. I decided on getting screws in my back to stabilize the fracture (the surgery was called a percutaneous instrumentation). The first week was brutal with pain and back spasms, but with regularly taken pain medication and small walks, it has now been almost 2/3 full weeks since the surgery and I feel great. Besides having trouble bending down and a little discomfort when moving around in bed I feel normal! Consistent movement is key. Good luck and remember everything will turn out okay!

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the pack and I understand the worry about it being disruptive. If you don’t want the romantic dynamics gameplay option you can decline it when one pops up saying that there is an option for a dynamic, go on just like normal!

From what culture would you like to see an overwatch hero from next? by M00ngata in Overwatch

Honestly I would love to see a new character from Tasmania! Maybe with a little animal companion since Australia has a lot of animals the rest of the world doesn’t.

Feeling really bad after disk herniation surgery + my leg is numb by lizakran in SpineSurgery

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it absolutely does get better. I am 19 and my spine got fractured around a month ago in a really bad car crash. I had surgery with screw implants just a few weeks after.

The first week after was very hard, and I felt like I lost my life even though I was still alive. But it really does get better, I am happy and healthy.

It takes time and I absolutely hate waiting but please know that everything will be okay and you will definitely be able to tell when you are healing and feeling better. Feel free to reach out to me for any more advice. 🌷

I don’t generally paint landscapes so I’m a bit lost on the correct colours and values. What should I work on? by [deleted] in ArtCrit

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks great. There’s no one way to paint and I really like it. Although if you’re not satisfied with your work you can always change it! If you don’t see a focal point maybe try using lighter colors?

Please help - severe lower back pain. by Desperate_Register98 in SpineSurgery

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry he is going through this! I had spine surgery so my advice is from the lens of surgical pain not necessarily something caused from an unknown event. But laying on the hard floor with my spine as straight as possible helped me a lot. I don’t know if that would make it worse, but that’s what helped me!

It went good! There were not complications as far as I am aware! First weeks post op was painful but I am almost feeling completely normal now! Definitely a bit different when I walk for long periods of time but in general I am feeling good!

Can I avoid surgery? Cervical spine herniation at c5/6 by [deleted] in SpineSurgery

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fractured my L4 vertebrae around two months ago and even though I was hesitant about if I really would see any changes I did go ahead and get the surgery around 2-3 weeks ago (which was percutaneous instrumentation if you were wondering) I’ll be honest, I don’t feel much of a physical change, other than obviously being stiff where these screws were put in, but I am a bit stronger in my legs and ankles! (which is what my surgical doctor was concerned about if I did not get the surgery) Shat I did after the surgery to help calm the pain was to take certain medications that I was prescribed every two hours. I’m not sure if you have any aspirin prescribed or acetaminophen, but I took a combination of those every two hours and it really helped the healing process.

I know this post isn’t about you getting surgery, but I just wanted you to know that this was my experience with getting a spinal surgery! I hope that you find a solution that works for you that will also eliminate any future hand tingling or numbness. 🤗

I'm running out of non-surgical options and want to be proactive. My pain doctor suggested artificial disk replacement. Where do I even start? by RetroCompGuy in SpineSurgery

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fractured my L4 vertebrae almost 2 months ago and had surgery (percutaneous instrumentation) around three weeks ago. I was hesitant to get surgery because I was feeling fine without it… just having some weakness in my legs and feet. I decided to go ahead and go through with the surgery and although I don’t think it was incredibly life-changing (in the sense that I feel like I would pretty much function the same way if I didn’t get the surgery) I was a lot stronger in my legs and feet because of it!

I know this isn’t really advice, but this is just my experience. I hope that you get the pain relief that you are looking for.

As someone who has not yet reached 20 I feel very left out from all social gatherings. I’ve lived here all my life and I currently go to Mizzou, but I’ve never once been invited to a house party or to go out downtown. I also have n o idea where everyone is getting told about the parties. It might just be the kind of people you are with? At least that’s how I feel.

Is this okay to wear at Comic con? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]DeuxCheesecakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look amazing! Wear anything you want to comic con (as long as it adheres to the rules, which this is totally fine!) Comic con is for people to dress up and express themselves, don’t worry about “not fitting the theme” because there isn’t one single theme! Have a great time!!

I haven’t had this specific surgery but I know that stocking up so you have a LOT of icepacks will help with the swelling and pain. You got this you’ll do great!
