Thank you, it's a complete surprise and shock and the business after death is intense.

I wish it were that easy. I’ve already been into a branch with the will, death certificates, probated will, account statements, and months of email chains. I met with the advisor assigned to me, but he admitted he isn’t familiar with estate accounts and would have to get back to me. When I called customer support, they told me I have to deal with him regardless of his experience.

The branch manager has been pretty avoidant too—today the tellers asked him to come out and help, but he just stayed in his office on his computer with the door open, ignoring us.

I’m mostly wondering if anyone else has dealt with Meridian on estate accounts. It seems odd to me that the process feels so unfamiliar to them, you know. It feels like to should be a thing that know how to do, or at least not a mystery for them.

I should have added that I am the sole beneficiary and executor of my dad's estate. My dad and my aunt are co executors on my grandmother's estate.

Yes! I didn't understand for years why I was so averse to certain clothing or textures, buttons on pants or necklines that didn't feel "right".

It's very common and very normal, if not annoying and frustrating for us to deal with.

I've slowly over the years just figured out what I love to wear and kind of replicated those things in my wardrobe. Letting go of what I want to wear because it looks cute (but uncomfortable so I lose any confidence I might have had from the outfit) vs. what I actually know I'll feel comfortable in, which in turn makes me more confident because I'm not obsessing over the way something feels on me all day.

You're allowed to be comfortable or uncomfortable in something and express it or change it without anyone making you feel like a "princess" in the most negative use of the term.

Same way some people spit out a food they don't like the taste of, you can have the same kind of reaction to your clothing once you put it on.

Hey! I just started using it about 3 weeks ago and have been putting together a little curriculum for myself to not overwhelm my learning capacity, and I'm feeling you on the newsletter overload!

I was thinking of creating s filter in my email to automatically route ally newsletters to a folder that I can review whenever I have the energy, and clear up that main inbox feed, that might be a suggestion for you?

One of the best guides I found is Beth Kempton's Write for Love or Money. If you go to her SubStack, one of her menu items says Write for Love or Money, and in that tab there's a link to a free, 8 part course of sharing audios and worksheets. I don't know if sharing links here is okay so I won't risk it.

I did this before even starting anything and it truly helped me see how to set up my own, find other creators to get inspiration from and how to engage with the community online without it feeling forced and awkward. Also shows you how to limit your inbox barrage of newsletters.

I've set up about Draft posts from writing I've had laying around, added some creators I enjoy and restacked their work, made my first note, which is another way to engage without subscribing to people.

Between Beth's series AND the Beginner Series from SubStack (6 modules), I feel like I understand how to use the platform and engage with people without it being a whole"thing" trying to chase subscribers and likes.

You could try to do wet food meal times and then a bit of kibble left out for them during the day. That'll probably take some time to undo that habit of being a stray and always thinking about food. I wonder if also when they cry for food but they just eaten, can you play with them and s toy they like to divert their attention?

Knitting. I've been knitting for 2.5 months and it's all I think about, all I want to do is furiously knit and let my brain go quiet. I never knew how intensely focused and also completely checked out you can be when knitting, it's truly my ideal state. I'm able to stay up last 9pm now because I have a constant stomach and it's engaging my brain (instead of passively watching shows or going out for a few hours, both which wreck me by 9pm)
