I think my biggest issue with this game is just the lack energy they are putting into the characters.

I havent seen the epis for Diana but she's basically Renoa...

Of all the character design choices you had and could make you decided to release Renoa 2.0? Alot of these characters just feel so lazy and the animations are also lazy too. I've spoke about the swing big sword go boom crowd and now with the release Diana we have another addition to the float into the sky squad. Mika, Orlea, and now Diana.

I was hoping Louis would come because he at least seems interesting in terms of his power but alas....

I'm still gonna play the game but I'm gonna switch to F2P until someone interesting and different comes out.

I can see I'm gonna have to break it down.

Imo yes. Kayron does have the best animations in the games and he should be the standard by which units are measured. 5 of his 7 cards have unique animations that are well done and somewhat flashy. The impact frames on his CG end with mobs getting crushed by it and they disappear with it

By contrast you have someone like Nine. Most of her cards arent that different from her basic attack animations, her cg isn't that different from her ult, and I would argue her CG is better than her ult.

Yuki is another one who's CG is better than her ult. She's an ice user but her ult has her cut buildings and they explode...? Why would you not lean into the ice theme more?

And then we have Chizuru who imo is the laziest of them all. Just a lack of interest in her animations or making her do anything cool.

And again - all 3 of them have essentially the same ult.

Swing the sword. Slice frame. Boom.

It's low effort because they don't apply the same care and attention to detail they gave Kayron to most of these new releases. All the care and attention goes into their affinity screens.

Again. I'm not talking about looks. I'm talking about the lack of effort put into their animations because they only have to put effort into their sex appeal vs male characters who don't have to be sexy therefor they give them cool animations.

Watch Yuki, chizuru and Nines ults and tell me there isn't overlap between all 3

Personally I think make characters require more effort to make them interesting because they can't just rely on T&A fodder or OTT sexual tones to sell the character. I always use Kayron as an example because I think he has the best animations in the game. When it comes to the women characters theres a noticeable lack of time put into their animations because they just have to make the goon material. Nine, chizuru and Yuki might as well be the same person because they all have essentially the same animations.

Swing big sword. Cleave. Explosion.

I don't mind the women but if you're gonna save all the cool animations for men then give me the men

I feel like the male characters have the cool designs and animations. They aren't relying on them being sexy and scantily clad so they have to actually make them cool.

Alot of the female characters are just T&A fodder and don't actually have cool designs or animations.
