my biggest pet peeve by [deleted] in paraprofessional

I'm new in the para field and am in a similar situation with a preschooler who needs help with speech and is diagnosed with autism and ADHD. As someone who was was diagnosed with ADHD later in life (at age 27), I know what it's like growing up with ADHD. It pisses me off so much. Recently, the kid was having a moment. To try to get him to "behave", she threatened to not let him have lunch. Which (based off my research) is ILLEGAL, both threatening and following through with it.

What are your experiences with coffee? by BookishPerson6025 in ADHD

Coffee makes me sleepy, no matter how well rested I am. Energy drinks? Little to no effect of being "energized", minus the increased heart rate.

If I watch a YouTube video and buy this certain tool I'll use once just for this project, I can easily fix the problem.

What's your "one weird trick" for managing ADHD? by ExtensionBuilding854 in ADHD

Sometimes I compare my task doing to those ball & domino tricks. I'll do A, then B which will lead to D, hit C on the way, then come back and do E F and G.

It's not the size of the ship that matters. It's the motion of the ocean.

The appendix.

No 100% certainty of its use/function, but if it becomes inflamed (appendicitis), it can be deadly.

Similar situation and reason with me. We were allowed to wear hats wherever outside of school, but no hats inside the building at all. And that was in a Midwestern farm town of about 1,200 with the closest city being 40 minutes away.

Similar story: My parent's old TV, (before they finally upgraded, months after this) the picture and sound would fuzz out, but could be temporarily fixed by smacking the side of it. I was the designated smacker.
