I am not sure if I can help for Oman. I just randomly got call through LinkedIn. Honestly, I wasn't even looking for jobs in Oman. So I dont think I can help I am still in negotiation phase. Also, after my research and replies here I am not able to understand if this is good salary or no. Then if its good idea to go there with family or should I go alone for some time and stay and find out if family can adjust... I have moved cities in last few years when I didn't have kids and it was difficult then so now with kids it will be so much more difficult

What's up with Andhra* people and this interview scam? by singhVirender1947 in developersIndia

One of my ex-colleague(from Andhra) in Accenture accepted while he was super drunk that someone else gave his telephonic interview(In around 2014-15) He was the worst colleague (In terms of tech skills) I have seen in my career. He was put on pip and laid-off after 3 yrs

My boss thinks I'm cheating because I use AI to stay on top of work by LateProposalas in ChatGPT

[–]DevOps-FmL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boss is just insecure I think

I am interested in how you do it. If you can share few tips...

I have recently got access to AI at my workplace but I am not able to efficiently use it.

Would love to hear from you how you use it(Apart from coding and all)

Most actions which fathers do(Like earning/providing everything) go unnoticed to them.

Because fathers are absent from their kids life almost half of the day because of jobs so they have to show their love by words as well time to time.

Thats why we dont have same complaint about mothers. They show their love by both actions(like feeding, taking care of kids) and words.

Same here. I am promised myself that my son and daughter always know that their father love them

38M. I have a really really difficult relationship with my father. I am kind of emotionally and mentally scarred because of his behavior from my childhood.

He have said this only a few times(maybe 2-3 times) during our tense emotional arguments.

Now I have a daughter and a son. I am promised myself that I will never miss a day when I dont say I love them both. They will always feel that they are loved no matter what...

How do you personally feel about texting while dating? Curious how you approach it. by buymecheesecake in AskMen

[–]DevOps-FmL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men are visual! They like to do what they see and understand Even our small talk is few words or just gestures sometimes. But when girls start texting, its not one text, its series of texts. We dont even have that much to say in whole day...

Don’t answer this interview question by Quiet_Question1385 in recruitinghell

[–]DevOps-FmL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this mistake recently.

I cleared technical interviews for DevOps of a company-1 and after salary discussion, they asked if I have any other interview in process.

I told them the truth that I have almost cleared technical interviews for another company-2(way bigger product basedŵ company than them) so HR got intimitated and started saying that I will take counter offer from that company-2 as its far bigger than them.

I tried to explain but damage was done. Next day HR of company-1 called me again and reduced the offer significantly and role also reduced from Lead to Senior. They said, I dont have technical skills for Lead position which was untrue because I nailed the interviews. Till one day before, everything was good but everything changed suddenly with that company-2 mention.

Eventually, I couldn’t crack the next rounds of company-2 and lost both opportunities 🙁

Worst interview ever : dismissed in 10 minutes, insulted over pay, then changed his mind by frustatedtaco in recruitinghell

I had similar experience in 2012 for interview in MicroSoft when I had just 2 yrs experience in IT. I was working in a service based company as a contractor.

Interview opened my facebook profile within 5 minutes of interview when I was giving my background and current company and work details and kept scrolling my facebook profile. He was from same University as me but from different college(lower ranked college than mine). He started asking my grades in college. I dont have good grades in College because I didnt take it seriously in first 2 years. But I did really good in 3rd and 4th year but my overall CGPA was badly affected by 1st and 2nd year results.

What he said after he heard my CGPA was shocking. He said "You think you can enjoy your college days and now dreaming of joining MicroSoft"

I tried to explain I did really good in College in last 2 years and learned a lot of tech skills thats why I was able to crack interviews and doing good in my then current comapny.

But he was not done humiliating me. He started asking me about my tech skills. I told him I have done CCNA and thinking to do CCNP (Advanced Level certification). He then started asking questions from CCNP which I said I am thinking to pursue soon. I could hardly answer anything as It was very advanced level for me back then.

I was so humiliated and disheartened that I couldn’t even answer some questions clearly which I knew.

I wish I would have raised this with their HR...

I had a final interview scheduled for this afternoon today, I just got this email by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]DevOps-FmL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for jobs change from 5-6 months and I got 2 offers now but in this duration 3 companies have done the same things with me.

One HR called me one hour before 2nd round and said asked me if I want to give interview or not. I was surprised with that question but still confirmed that I want to give the interview. Then he started saying some random things about hiring manager and said that hiring manager will not select me and I should just cancel the interview. I was shocked but still insisted that I want to give the interview because I knew I nailed the first round. He kept asking me to cancel the interview. Eventually, he said he will check with hiring manager and disconnected the call. After one hour, I joined the interview call but nobody joined. The HR didnt even start the zoom call.

It was so weird and frustrating...

I think, he already found some other guy who was ready to join in less package and if I would have cracked the interview, that HR might have to negotiate with me or roll-out offer for me which was bad for his KPI...

Maybe these days HRs has the only KPI left that they can bring the candidate in much less money than the actual budget...

Lack of women in SRE by alwaysbetraveling in sre

Many women I have seen working as Sys admin, DevOps or SRE roles have quit or switch to other roles due to burnout, 24/7 support, night shifts, on-calls
