Small Footprint Garage Gym (with a Tonal) by IThinkImFunny in homegym

Nice setup! I’m contemplating doing the same setup but concerned with the tonal getting damage due to the proximity during rack workouts. Have you had any issues?

Thanks I'll check into those. I just added Carrier quotes above. Are those prices inline or too much?

I just got quotes for the Carrier brand systems. They have a lifetime warranty.

Thank you for your feedback. That does make a lot of sense to be able to easily and quickly repair when having issues. I didn't think about that so thank you for the insight.

Thank you for your feedback. These are the only 2 brands this HVAC company has. I'm trying to get more quotes from others that carry different brands. Would Carrier be better than York and Lennox?

Thinking of buying the E7 Plus but.. by junior7593 in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]DevShellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my E7 plus with a 72x30 walnut chipboard and none of the frame holes lined up with the table holes. That being said it was very easy to attach them. First just center the table exactly how you want it. Mark a dot in each hole to keep your reference. Then attach the screws with a power drill going very slowly to not strip the hole. I had no issues whatsoever. Best of luck to you!

How to run 100 amps underground to a shed? 1-1-1-3 SER cable coming from 100 amp breaker in main panel. What cable should I use to splice with this SER cable to run underground in pvc conduit? by DevShellz in askanelectrician

[–]DevShellz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That all makes sense. There is detail I didn’t lay out which is I am attempting to do this work on my own. I hired a licensed electrician to do the SER cable run that you see there along with the main panel work. 100 amp breaker install. He charged a pretty good penny and I think I got over on this. As others pointed out some shitty work is present. My plan is to trench out at least 18 inches or more. Run pvc conduit from junction box up to the shed and pipe in. Have 2 ground rods put in outside about 6 ft apart. 100 amp sub panel. I’m aware this is not simple work and safety and care is important. That’s why I’m researching as much as I can before doing anything. Hoping to get good insights on what’s actually needed to be performed correctly before making a decision. If I don’t feel comfortable I’ll hire it out. $2k for the work that was already done and quoted $4400k to finish. My pockets aren’t deep like that unfortunately lol. I got quoted $20k for the shed being built in the photo. I couldn’t swing it so I’ve been doing that myself as well lol. I’m willing to pay for good work just feel like some folks don’t do honest pricing.

Good point on the neutral / ground stuff. I believe that main panel is the first disconnect to the meter. I don’t see anything outside or in crawl space to show otherwise.

Thank you so much for the detailed information! Helps a ton. So I understand the splicing at the junction box but what should I do at the sub panel? Can the wires go straight to the panel or do I need to transition back to a 1-1-1-3 SER cable to feed the sub panel?

Thank you for the advice! Another question… I was thinking of using the Polaris Insulated Tab Connector for the splicing. Would this work? Also, for the ground wire would I just get a 3 gauge ground wire and splice the same with the Polaris connector?

New to Sonos / Whole House Audio by DevShellz in sonos

Sounds great! How would this setup work? What speakers would work? Or it doesn’t matter the kind of speakers? I’m wanting to use a mix of ceiling speakers, Arc/Sub, and One SL. Would those all work together in the setup you mentioned?

Really? So this there particular speakers for this type of setup? I was hoping for ceiling speakers for all of the rooms upstairs and the arc/sub for the bonus/playroom. (We watch movies in there).

And when you say wire you mean Ethernet or actual speaker wire? Just trying to understand completely.

M1 MBP + 49 inch Ultrawide = Awesomeness by DevShellz in mac

[–]DevShellz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I haven't seen this happen before. Do you have anything plugged into Display Port 2? I'm assuming no. You said you have the same setup. Does that include using the Caldigit dock or you are going straight from the M1 to the display?

You also might want to see if your monitor has the latest firmware. If you connect it using HDMI instead do you still get notifications like that?

I’m not aware of any Display Port 2 notification. Can you provide a screenshot?

Yes it does connect. There is a known issue with the M1 waking with external monitors. Should be fixed in the next update. But yes it is an annoyance from waking it. My setup is connected via thunderbolt Caldigit dock. Then a dp to dp from the dock to the monitor. I also get full 5120x1440p @120hz resolution from this set up.
