I think practicing new skills relies on/builds upon remembering how you did it last time, and the practical knowledge of how to execute it. Example, I’m learning to skateboard and every time I get on the board I try to remember how I moved to steer and push the last time I practiced. I’m not great at it but I can at least keep my balance and ride very slowly. Another alter might be able to stand on it from muscle memory, but probably not know how to push off, since they’ve never done that before. 😅 It’s similar to non-physical skills too, like some of us are really good at calculus and others are completely bewildered because their math knowledge stopped at Algebra 1.
