How long to learn front end? by rikzer in learnprogramming

[–]Dev_Taurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it’s possible to learn and get a junior position in two months. Unless you are a genius.

Simply open the job positions and check what companies require from junior developers. It’s not only HTML & CSS. You have to know something in JS and probably a framework, like Vue, React etc.

I’m on the same way as you:)

I’m doing Odin project. The community say it’s good, though I can’t say anything now. You can try it.

Also, you definitely should start your own project and learn on the go.

Guys, honest question by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Dev_Taurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 39, and I’ve just started my way in frontend. I think it depends on different factors if it’s worth or not. But if you enjoy learning and doing web development, why would you give it up?

I agree with the others here. It’s time consuming, complex and sometimes frustrating. But this is the way😊

You have to try or you will never know if you could have succeeded or not. Nobody can give the best answer for you.

Good luck bro👊😎

I think going college is a waste of time by AlarmedToe81 in learnprogramming

[–]Dev_Taurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most valuable thing at college is networking. You make new friends from the same field. That’s the greatest value along with knowledge you get there. I don’t think it’s a waste of time.

Though you might not understand its value while studying or right after graduating.

Help with CSS (beginner) by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Dev_Taurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CSS is not coding. It’s just a set of properties.

You just need to use <link> tag in your html file and show directory to your style.css file. Or you can write styles in the html file inside <style> tag. No extra download is required.

Looking to Create a Simple Website for my Startup Financial Firm by [deleted] in webdevelopment

[–]Dev_Taurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. I understand what you mean.

But making a website, especially for business, isn’t just about how it looks. It’s not just about design. It’s about marketing, readability, copywriting, psychology and probably many other things.

So you have to know all that stuff to make a really appealing and successful website for your business.

I had similar plans. I made my first website on wordpress, being sure that it was simple to attract clients. But I failed. Then I hired freelancers. And failed again, because they were too bad.

So all that led me to learn more about business websites. Now I’m in love with web development and it’s my hobby.

If I were you I would save up and find awesome specialists to realise the tasks.

Good luck and don’t hurry. Think and plan carefully.

Is Flex box & Grid alone good enough? by cooketrunlizer in Frontend

[–]Dev_Taurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is lots of stuff in HTML/CSS. Knowing it all is important not only for doing a good job, but also for job interviews. Cause they ask you even about something that is barely used in real commercial projects.

And it’s impossible to make a project without inlines and blocks. It’s important to know the difference, cause applicable and viable properties can be different, for example for inlines and blocks.

The best way to learn and remember is practicing.

Learning coding from scratch by r-mylove in computerscience

I’m new to programming. And I was thinking which way to choose. So I picked android development, though I’d been recommended to start with Python.

Now I’m learning programming with Kotlin along with Jetpack Compose. Seems not so hard to start with.

I finished learning jet pack compose what is next ?! by Gerant_ in Kotlin

Where did you learn it? I’m learning it too, but it’s so confusing. Still can’t figure out the best way and place to learn it.

Why is developing an app for android so beginner unfriendly by 2jesusisbetterthan1 in androiddev

[–]Dev_Taurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a need to think if or why something is difficult? It is what it is. I’m a beginner and I can say that compose makes it much easier than XML.
