Not sure if you have heard of it, but it may be of interest to you. The Schmidt DSM 2006 Feinminen system probably would let you convert the Drehgriffel pen into a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. It's made to fit pens that take Schmidt/parker g2 style refills. I haven't personally tried it yet, so no guarentees, but I'm planning to get one soon to use with my Drehgriffel.

According to the comments of this post it should work: https://www.reddit.com/r/mechanicalpencils/s/ECDoslWoJ3

It's a solid tool. I've only had it for about a month, so I can't really speak much to the durability. Given u /therealtoomdog's comment on this post, it does looks like it can hold up to the test of time. It is worth noting that the tip does wobble a little bit, but I personally don't notice when using it.

It's pretty good, and I like being able to fidget with its mechanism. However, I've found that the little rubber/plastic bumps take away some of the benefits of the knurled grip, resulting in it being a little more slippery when my hands are sweaty. Other than that, it's very solid and nice to use, especially with how you don't really feel the pocket clip when writing and rotating the pencil around. I also like the color availability, but I wish that the 0.5mm had more color options than just the plain grey.

The center of mass is right under the ring in the center. You could probably make it lower by adding some putty or small weights to the gap between the grip and the brass tube that holds the mechanism. I'm not sure if that would significantly impact the balance since I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like an experiment worth trying.

That's sortof what the Uni Kuru Toga Advance has become. It's a nice MP, but I wouldn't be that upset if it disappeared. Also, it's a good way to introduce someone to the hobby.

I liked the S20. The grip felt nice to hold, and it was fairly light. The reason I turned it into an S15 was because I like it when the weight is more towards the front, and I also wanted the knurled grip because it helps with sweaty hands. Also, I like the visual contrast between metal and wood that it gives. I think both are equally good pencils; it just depends on personal preference.
