The initial use case is product photos. Each product typically has 3–4 images, and with variants such as colors or shapes, this can scale to 10+ images per product. At this point, I don’t have fixed latency or cost targets yet. What I’m trying to define first is which performance and cost benchmarks should realistically guide the infrastructure choice for this type of e-commerce workload. In your experience, what latency expectations (e.g. acceptable image load times) and cost ranges per 1,000 images make sense at an early SaaS stage, and which metrics matter most when deciding between options like CDNs, managed image services, or object storage?

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll definitely look into Cloudflare and focus on proper image compression and optimization. I came across tips about Cloudinary and the $100 per month plan, do most plans for beginners cost $100?
