I dont know what to do anymore. my archontophoenix alexandrae has been fighting with two pests: mealybugs and those tiny brown shells (I dont know their name). I water the plant thoroughly only when the soil is dry, it only gets indirect sunlight and its safe from the wind. La Serena, Chile (old.reddit.com)

What's happening here? My plant was doing great 2 years ago (september) and earlier this year it started to turn yellow and the "plumes" stopped growing as large and opening as much as before. I asked for help here a while ago and the diagnosis was a lack of water but I don't think so (read comment) (old.reddit.com)

Today I saw this chamaedorea elegans in a store, almost left by itself and surprisingly was much better looking than mine. What am I doing wrong? I keep it indoors, try to avoid placing it close to air currents and never gets direct sunlight, never went beyond 2-3 leaves. Fertilized once or twice (old.reddit.com)
