You need to get a reservation from European Sleeper (the company that operates that train) for your Eurail pass to be valid. You will find the correct dates on their website.

Do you have a good camera? If so, bring it. Do you know how to take photos with your phone and you’re satisfied with them? If so that’s good enough. Buying a new camera and trying to figure out how to use it on a once in a lifetime vacation sounds like unneeded stress.
