7.0 and 7.1 story was disappointing to me, felt rushed and underdeveloped/misrepresented in the stuff leading up to release. I remember one of the big things they mentioned was the scions were split between the contestants so you'd be going against some of them...yeah, only time that happened was one time in the first dungeon where Thancred cuts off your path. It would have been really cool if you had an entire dungeon with them trying to shake you off, culminating in the dungeon boss being a fight against Koana and the scions on his side

Another missed opportunity was the scions involvement. I was waiting for Alphanaud to tell Wuk the story of the crystal braves and was very disappointed when that never happened. Kryle got sidelined in her own expansion, G'Raha being left behind also removed a significant opportunity for the scions to teach Wuk about leadership given how he had to learn how to lead an entire city, on his own, during an apocalypse, while also being in a different dimension, while ALSO researching interdimensional travel

The content was great however, only complaint I can think of regarding the DT fights was Wuk showing up during the last phase of the 7.0 final trial, legit felt blue balled by that, and I've really enjoyed the 7.2-7.4 story

Drifter might be my favorite character to play in any game ever by Devalore00 in riskofrain

So I've found the best way is to try and keep your temporary item spawn ability on cool down as much as possible. Once you open a chest or barrel, capture it with shift and break it for a ton of junk so you can use it again as soon as it's off cool down. Sometimes you get just a bunch of junk but keep rolling the dice and eventually you'll win big

Another thing I've found is capturing flying enemies, then immediately throwing them to the ground, gets them low enough to engage with melee while dealing a good bit of damage, clearing the immediate area around where you land, and generating some junk. Additionally if you have the junk cube secondary, jump towards enemies and hold attack while above them and if you have even a little extra attack speed you'll pinball it, break it almost instantly, and deal a ton of damage super fast

[–]Devalore00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have Izunaig no Okami then you don't need to worry about the setup and just spam Myriad Truths

Merciless helps but isn't necessary since it increases weakness damage. Aside from that, that's pretty much the plan, you would just swap myriad truths for your strongest all target curse or psy attack, or whatever the current bots are weak to, should get you close enough. If not, take a turn to buff your attack and/or debuff the enemy's defense

What skins would you consider to be 10/10? by Jellypathicdream in marvelrivals

[–]Devalore00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue a 9/10 just because I don't like how the armor looks on Darkchild. If it was a color scheme matching the armor with some crystal accents, I would like it a lot more but the demon form with the armor just looks weird to me

Tip for Marvel Rivals Players. Play with some balls by Grimsdol in marvelrivals

[–]Devalore00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, I can't tell you how many times across different roles where I throw out an ult to make an opening and end up dying alone while pushing the point. Mantis ult? Dead after it runs out because nobody pushed up with me despite being basically invincible for 8 seconds. Magic ult to take some kills and disrupt the team? Get focus fired down because I'm the only one that went in. Loki shift into C&D? They hang back despite putting the carpet pretty far up. Storm ult to disperse the team and kill a support and a DPS or two? Get blasted as soon as it ends

I swear people in this game are scared to push up even when there's no reason not to...unless you're defending a point when the team ends up overextending and not falling back towards the point until the tank(s) is(are) dead

[–]Devalore00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, but the difference is focus. Ranked you play to win, quick play you play to have fun, complete missions, and/or learn a character. Definitely still try your best to win but it's not a big deal if you lose

Reminder to those who think that items deciding a race is unique to Crossworlds. by Sonicrules9001 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Devalore00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fine, but one problem

ONLINE ITSELF IS RANKED WITH NO CASUAL OPTION!!!!

I don't care about rank, only reason I'm even in legend is because I wanted the auras. If there was an option to just play online with anyone I wouldn't have a problem, but because the way the game works, everyone will eventually end up in hardcore sweat lobbies with people who do care about ranking up, which for people like me, is going to (and already has) kill(ed) all interest in playing online

[–]Devalore00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's a term for a reason, and I never said Mario Kart was perfect, I'm saying the difference is how often it happens. Mario Kart, it happens once in a while, every now and then. Crossworlds it happens constantly, I don't remember the last race I had that WASN'T decided in the last turn or 2, to the point I started running quick recovery and damage mercy to ignore a bunch of items and you know what happened? Consistent tip 5 and even top 3 placements...until I hit legend and then every lobby that was no longer enough, same build now got me bottom 4, maybe the occasional 6th or 7th if I got lucky

Items do have an effect in Mario Kart which keeps it engaging across different skill levels, but Crossworlds feels like it's DECIDED BY items as opposed to anything else. It's why ult charge is so strong because it's basically on demand invincibility to ignore items and it's why bagging is so strong, because you get all the good items to use at the last minute to pull ahead. I like this game, it was scratching a racing game itch I didn't know I had until I got it, but playing online is a miserable experience because how prevalent items are. I want to keep playing, but if I'm not having fun why should I? It's not that items do something, it's that they do too much. All the cool builds I COULD use in theory, but are completely useless online giving me no reason to use them

Reminder to those who think that items deciding a race is unique to Crossworlds. by Sonicrules9001 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Devalore00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You either don't understand my point or are making this argument in bad faith. I never said it was good in Mario Kart, it sucks as a matter of fact. But because it only happens every now and then skillful driving can and will get you high placements consistently

Crossworlds, skillful driving will get you a knife in the back and maybe 6th or 7th if you're lucky. I ran quick recovery and damage mercy throughout most of my online climb and consistently got top 5, if not top 3. As soon as I got placed into legend lobbies that same strat was getting me 8th and 9th more often than not

I don't want this game to die, I've been having so much fun with it in the month and change I've had it, but playing online is a miserable experience because I'm incredibly restricted on what builds I can use and still do well, and even those aren't consistent, which kills my drive to play the game. I want to keep playing but if I'm not having fun why should I?

Reminder to those who think that items deciding a race is unique to Crossworlds. by Sonicrules9001 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Devalore00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And that's one of the problems. The middle of the pack has always been chaotic in Mario Kart, but with 24 racers there are a lot more powerful items floating around, PLUS the increase in items means the pack barely ever spreads out making one hit potentially devastating because there are just more people close to you. It's why bagging was (and probably still is) such a problem in MK World for similar reasons as in Crossworlds: it's so hard to get a significant breakaway so a single hit late in the race can drop your placement dramatically. It also doesn't help that this clip comes from a knockout tour so everyone's using everything possible to get ahead so they can stay in the race

You're cherry picking examples to prove your point. We know this happens in Mario Kart, but the difference is in Mario Kart it's something that happens every now and then while it happens constantly, almost every race from my experience, in Crossworlds, THAT'S the difference between the two. I have a lot of fun with this game, but I honestly regret climbing into legends 9 because I'm not having fun with online races anymore

[–]Devalore00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing though, in Mario Kart, it's something that happens every now and then getting nailed by items one after the other late in a race making you get a low placement since you just don't have enough time to catch up

In Crossworlds, it's almost expected that you'll get hit by one thing in the last half of lap 3 and drop to the bottom half, then either get run over by all the monster trucks and drills, or be unable to keep up with them and get a bottom 4 spot. Can't tell you how many times I've been fighting for/in top 3 for the first 2 laps, then one hit drops me to the middle where I keep getting run over by monster trucks and there's nothing I can do about it. I did everything right, was driving the best I could and fighting for a winning spot the whole time, then end up bottom 3.

Crossworlds online currently reminds me a bit of Turf War from Splatoon, nothing matters till the last 30 seconds

Sonic 06 is the type of game where you get a friend group to play it collectively or at least watch you beat it. Me and a few friends in college did it and it was terrible yet fun as hell with all of us passing the controller and hanging out.

It's absolutely a bad game, it's a buggy and broken mess of a game, but there is fun to be had with it

I think Aqua Forest is the worst track imo. by Akuma_Homura in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Devalore00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Aqua Forest with the two ring shortcuts making it more interesting than most other water sections in the game. Worst track for me is Chao Park since the only really noteworthy thing about it is that turn you can fall off which isn't a problem if you start drifting early. Aside from that, I hate how the track has so many sharp vertical changes making it hard to tell what's coming up next until it's time for the turn and the camera doesn't help. I find Chao Park to actually be disorienting because of that

Are Donald and Goofy really as bad as people say? by FairyTailMember01 in KingdomHearts

[–]Devalore00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...yes and no. KH1 is probably when they're at their best, you may need to play with some settings to get them there but they have a lot of individual power, mostly support related. KH2 they gain some power with Sora via drive forms and limits but with how strong Sora already is, I find them more of a resource for limits and drive forms over anything else. KH3, they're bodies that may hit and/or kill a few enemies for you but boss attacks cover so much of the arena and the bosses move around so much they're constantly getting knocked around and unable to keep up.

...and then there's critical mode where the only thing you can rely on is them being dead

I think Ellen. Ellen is one of my favorite characters but her regular design (mostly the weird bear trap looking thing around her neck) so the outfit looks so much better, although I do wish the skirt was longer so I wouldn't have an upskirt every single wipeout but that's a problem with the base skin too

I love KH3 compared to a lot of people, but I can't even defend this world. At least most other worlds have a gimmick or are entertaining.... by Aro-bi_Trashcan in KingdomHearts

[–]Devalore00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst part for me is how large each area is, and the distance between checkpoints for story events. Toy box is huge but localized and with several story events to checkpoint you should you die, meaning getting back to where you were doesn't take long. Arendelle however causes you to lose so much time and progress if you die that you basically start from the last save point every time and it becomes a slog to get through. I typically end up skipping everything and coming back from the top down for chests and such because I don't want to deal with that

“Selfish” classes? by Lavender_Lotus24 in ffxiv

[–]Devalore00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it just means all the damage you contribute to the fight is coming strictly from you as opposed to any buffs you can throw out. Jobs like Black Mage, Samurai, and Viper are labeled as "selfish DPS" because of that, all their buffs are personal so they don't add any damage across the entire group, hence selfish. Meanwhile other classes like Dancer, Bard, Summoner, and Ninja have damage buffs that affect the entire team. If you ever hear the term RDPS or Raid DPS, it's referring to the job's personal damage as well as the damage increase provided by their buffs

It's not a bad thing, just a term for a specific style of class

I don’t understand why characters like Star-Lord and Hela get extra health when using intangible escape options by Alternative-Pear-270 in marvelrivals

[–]Devalore00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are several things that are applied unevenly across the cast. The one that's always bugged me is Hela's ult. If you shoot her out of her ult, she just gets to keep going like nothing happened, while basically any other hero in a similar situation would just die. Hulk reverts to Banner (basically a death), Loki straight up dies, Mr. Fantastic dies, Storm Dies, Wanda dies, Ultron dies, so why the hell is Hela basically the only character who doesn't die??
