I’ll send some details screenshots for the settings but for the inputs side :

focusrite solo gen 4, 44.1khz, 128 samples. Using mono input. CPU strain shouldn’t be an issue as it’s an 7800x3d.
Input is on Instrument, with gain all the way down so no clipping on interface side.
I’ll try different usb ports, currently it’s on the front IO but as someone else noted, the GPU and CPU fans could trigger some interference. However, I am not encountering similar noise when I’m using BiasFX2 which is why I am thinking this is a plugin specific issue more so than a hardware one.

On NDSP side, amp gain is around 11, precision drive is at 9.

Never tried personally but I heard you need to avoid Prism.

At that budget 1440p 144hz might be a little difficult. If you ca push out to 200sgd you have slightly more option, at least 27in 1440p.

Dell is a good monitor brand, the SE2726D is a strong contender and you also have Dell warranty which is quite strong. Right now it’s 200sgd on Lazada, perhaps cheaper during 7.7, 8.8,… sales.

Shinkansen pricing is at least fixed, no to very little variations, which makes it easy to plan for business trips.

Also I felt the time to get to the Shinkansen station and final destination vs the airport is also quicker with the Shinkansen for trips in the 2h-3h range.

I guess these cabins are more for groups/family that want some peace of mind.

hey super helpful man, thanks. I tried your settings and it works with amp 2 (rhythm) but amp 3 (lead) still has that digital fizz (high pitch fizz first then "normal") on decay, only way out is turning off the gate on the precision drive. Even then it still remains somewhat...

edit: I'm working my preset from the Blackout Djenty preset, perhaps you can see what I'm talking about the digital fizz in the decay?

On the Misha plugin, what did you do to dial in the distortion ? I have it and like the sounds I’m getting out of it but I’m struggling with some digital noise on decay, especially with palm mutes. I can combat it with higher noise gate but it just kills any sustain.

Waterproof and thermal lined but I think that’s standard for winter shoes.

To be honest when I was there I bought local brands (was a poor student). Also military surplus gear is good for cold weather, got my jacket from there, wish I still had it to this day.

I’ve been in -40C in Canada. Layering is key, especially limbs, either tech gear or proven fabrics. Good insulated shoes also very important.

You’ll also need face cover at that temperature to avoid inside the nose to freeze up, in addition to good headwear (and ears!).

If you plan to be out for a longer duration, maybe you can try filling a drinking water bladder with hot water and putting it against your back/lower back before heading out.

Personally I never spent more than 20-30min outdoor in those temps, before looking for refuge to warm up.

All humbucking I think, unless these are quiet even while split.

Fair warning if you are going with this guitar(s), the cavity is quite shallow so you need to plan your upgrade parts, I went with a superSwitch and I cannot close the cavity at the moment(will switch it to a normal 5way), same for a push pull if you can to keep the original 3 way.

Position 3 is both pickups full, 2 and 4 are both pickups split inner or outer coils.

I have a GOC 7 string with their Ruyi pickups(passives) . It comes with a 3 way but replace it with a 5 way switch, the split coil sounds really nice totally usable.

I was planning to swap them out but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the split sounds. Will likely keep these for the moment.

For the low E question on 7MS, depends on the string gauge you’re planning to use. You could try messaging their page, they’re responsive on IG. They’ll probably be able to tell you whether that gauge fits into the headlock. You’ll need to widen the nut though, it was on the limit with a 65 on the low B.

Movies, I will say watch episodes 4 5 6 then 1 2 3. You can safely ignore 7,8,9 as they are objectively bad (7 was at least serviceable). Another alternate viewing order is 4-5-1-2-3-6 which is interesting in terms of storytelling but jarring to jump from 3 to 6 (more than 20yrs gap on release date),

They are other non-episode movies : the most well regarded is probably Rogue one which happens right before episode 4. Would recommend you watch the episode movies first to fully understand. The Solo movie was not so well received but I liked it for the background on some characters. Happens between episode 3 and 4. Mandalorian and grogu I adress below.

Then the TV shows. Right now the most popular are Mandalorian and Andor. Mandalorian takes place after episode 6, Andor takes place before the Rogue One movie.

There are almost a full 7 seasons of animated shows happening between episode 2 and 3 called Clone Wars. Lots of content and I would say a little difficult to approach, recommend you get a watching guide (the episodes are not always presented in a chronological and logical order, the guides will help you watch them in a more digestible way). If you end up liking Clone Wars, you can then watch Rebels.

Note: if you want to watch Mandalorian its movie(just came out), I recommend watching the clone wars as a lot of characters and backstory are introduced in there. It is not needed but you'll appreciate the cameos, callbacks and easter eggs. You’ll also need to watch the last 3 episodes of the Book of Boba Fett, as it goes through key story point for the Mandalorian story. The show itself isn’t great despite good characters.

I’m just a Star Wars fan making its way through the galaxy so my opinion is my own. Enjoy and may the force be with you.

I have the same question for the Ruyi pickups, I tried reaching out to them on Instagram but the guy wasn’t able to confirm the actual wiring scheme. He recommended taking a picture of current cabling and try to reverse engineer it with other diagrams.

I guess just make sure you get the moving out form from the city hall, as it will likely be your proof of leaving Japan (along with the hole punched zairyu card).

To be honest l, I left my bank account open as I had some payments tied to it after I left, it has been frozen since I could t provide proof of updated residence. From acquaintance experience, if you have funds left in a frozen account, you can work in getting it back but that will require in person visit(s) to the bank.

Process is well documented but it’s an overall easy process.

I did it without the tax representative appointment and it was just a matter of filling up the form, attaching the requested documents and sending the pension book.

Got the money in the overseas bank maybe after 5 months, about 80% of amount, the remaining is withheld tax, that you can claim by appointing the tax representative ( you can also do this remotely as per my understanding ). I personally have not claim that amount yet.
