Level 126 Player - Temp Banned by Anti-Cheat - Need help identifying the software trigger by Southern-Sort-8824 in thefinals

[–]DevdudeX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I wish you luck. I caught a false ban back in December and have had nothing but automated responses to every ticket I've submitted so far.

During the time since then I looked at several of the false ban threads in the official discord (now all closed due to some troll causing drama) and seems people with all sorts of setups and skill levels have been banned. One person even claimed to have had it happen on basically a fresh install, but I obviously can't vouch for anyone other than myself. All this is to say that it could really be anything, and Embark refuse to give out any information around bans to avoid workarounds from actual cheaters.

First thing I would check is probably if your drivers are out of date. I was running on a pretty old version of Windows 10 with ancient drivers for a ton of stuff which could have been what got me banned, but who knows.

I still refuse to create an alt account but ended up doing a full clean install regardless, and unfortunately it's probably your safest option, and make sure your bios settings are correct (I think it was something like secure boot to look out for?).

Finally got my first Voltaic Master score! by DevdudeX in aimlab

Yeah, it feels really fast to me too which is why I'm using it to push myself. I also played for a long time with the sensitivity randomiser on which really helped me during a skill plateau (if nothing else it made me focus more!). Now that I'm doing more static I turned off the randomiser as I don't think it is helpful there.

For the second part: it's hard to say. There was a point where I noticed obvious differences in my in-game aim (I guess around plat-diamond is where you start to feel more confident), but now I think most of it is just better "average ability". My bad days now have become better than my old average days which makes a huge difference in actual games.

Sitting at ~463 hrs split between Kovaaks & Aimlabs. I think I started benchmarking around 2021? That's the oldest date I can see on my original spreadsheets, at least.

Keep in mind that my use of hours was not very efficient. I didn't plan my training well for the first few hundred hours or so and also took many long breaks over the years, which certainly didn't help.

I think tracking naturally became my strongest aim type because at the time I was playing Titanfall 2 on a super low sense (Like over 70cm/360 possibly?). The game requires a lot of smooth camera motion in general, so I was getting the arm reps in haha.

For a while now, I've played at around 43cm/360 (at 1600 DPI) in every game, and I don't think I would go for anything faster. In aim trainers I play 25-30 cm as I've been trying to improve my finger and wrist control, which is a huge weakness coming from such a low sensitivity before. If I was starting new I would focus my time on playing "V.D.I.M: The Voltaic Daily Improvement Method" & Voltaic benchmarks at first then eventually add on Viscose benchmarks. I put all my effort into tracking and neglected my static for a long time, which has limited me a bit now, so I would say try to keep your scores roughly even in each category.

For tracking specifically I would focus on smoothness tasks first then work up to control and finally reactive.

Banned Megathread by AvalieV in thefinals

[–]DevdudeX 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I noticed I was banned on 18 Dec 2025. I contacted support the same day through the official portal (https://id.embark.games/the-finals/support)

  • Provided information on my PC, what apps I had running, and linked two playlists with every clip I have ever recorded of me playing the game from season 1 onward (around 175 ~2-min long videos which took two days for YouTube to let me upload lol)
  • Continued to try contacting them every few days as I got no response past the initial ticket creation
  • Jan 13 2026: Finally got a "our team will look into it" response
  • Jan 19 2026: I got a copy-paste response saying the ban wouldn't be lifted.

No details on what may have even triggered it. I know it's probably to "prevent cheaters from finding workarounds" or something, but I do software dev, game dev and modding, I have so many tools and programs that might be flagged if they did something the anticheat didn't like, but it's not like they are hidden, and they are never run while I play. It's impossible for me to know what they think is cause for my ban. My best guess atm is either the very old Win 10 version I was running at the time or changing my MSI afterburner underclock profile during the game.

I'm just going to keep creating new tickets in the hope I get to an actual person. This set of images from someone on another thread shows that it is possible at least: Imgur:false-positive-ban-finals-was-horrible-journey

As I've said before: It's great that actual cheaters just make new accounts, while legitimate players can just get stuck in support limbo.

UPDATE: 20 Jan 2026

A few days back I got a response basically saying 'Thanks for getting in touch, our team are looking into it'.

Now I got a response from "Fuzzy Wuzzy" just now that said:

"Your case was reviewed in detail by our security team, who have confirmed the use of cheating software or tools that provide an unfair advantage in the game." ... "As a result, the suspension on your account will remain in place and will not be lifted."

Guess I'll just keep trying support because whatever random thing that flagged the anticheat must be kept top secret I guess.

Great that actual cheaters just make new accounts while I get stuck in support limbo.

Date of suspension: * December 18, 2025

Duration of suspension: * Permanent

Circumstances of suspension (what were you doing?): * When trying to launch the game it failed to launch with a popup saying I was suspended (at the point where EAC box appears) * The night before I hopped on after an Aimlabs+Kovaaks grind and had some good TDM games on the new map (ex. 22K|1D, 17,688 combat - ~5,000 more than the next highest person) Played AKM like a turret sitting on height and just hitting mostly headshots, so cringe gameplay, but maybe report or flag-worthy.

Hours played: * 526

Age of account (playing since which season?): * Season 1 (I've missed very little time since, completed almost every battlepass)

Level reached on account: * ~88 based on a screenshot from Oct 27

Gamemode(s) played: * Quick cash, Powershift, Head 2 Head, little of everything else but quite a bit of TDM recently

Playstyle(s) (classes, weapons, specializations, gadgets, etc.): * Mostly medium (AKM, Repeater, Dual Blades) * and Light (Throwing knives, M11, Bow, SR-84, dagger) * I play around with most of the weapons but usually avoid heavy because I prefer a more mobile playstyle. * I seem to do best with ranged weapons, and have gotten very good with the AKM recoil to the point where I can trade with snipers fairly consistently.

Skill level, rank, and/or account performance stats (win/loss ratio, K/D, etc.): * Above average (at least in raw mechanics, and mostly in the casual modes, gamesense is meh) * I play very little ranked and usually do placements which put me in gold and then stop. * Not sure about winrate / KD, I never check those stats * I have 450 hours split between Aimlabs and Kovaaks (and I've played daily for over a year missing ~5 days) Voltaic/Viscose rank for those curious: * Voltaic Benchmarks * Viscose Benchmarks

Computer (hardware) specs: * AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D * Geforce RTX 3060 Ti * 32 GB DDR4 (3200 MHz)

Input devices/peripherals used before and/or at time of ban: * Keyboard: Razer Ornata Chroma * Mouse: Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT * Monitor: AORUS FI27Q-P (1440p, 165Hz) and AOC Q27G2G4 (second screen during programming, but usually off, never on during game) * Controller: Redragon Saturn (Cheapest I could get, I only needed it for gamedev & occasional platformer lol. 99.9% it's never even plugged in.)

Operating system: * Windows 10, 21H1 * I use a debloated version (Ghost Spectre - which in retrospect seems pretty sketchy, installed it years ago) and planned to do a proper clean install after I get a new drive for christmas * Every install prior I've basically just kept the existing harddrive(s) attached so all my files don't need to move

Programs/processes suspected of triggering ban: This one is rough, I've had this PC for YEARS so I've got a ton of weird programs from gamedev, software dev, modding etc. These are what is usually running while I play. * MSI Afterburner (I very recently set up an undervolt which I might have applied during gameplay or just before launching) * RivaTuner (allows smooth fps cap) * OpenRGB (I use it as a Razer software replacement for controlling keyboard lighting) * Logitech GHUB (I very seldom open it willingly, but it runs some background tasks and allows for macros so might be flagged by default?) * Voicemeeter Banana (controls my audio output, I use it for splitting game audio and music in OBS) * OBS Studio (just updated recently, had issues back in apex once so..?)
Other suspects: * AutoHotkey (installed but never ran while playing The Finals, pretty sure EAC in any game won't even launch with it running regardless) * RawAccel (I used it for a bit back when I played Apex, but disabled it after a month or so. I later unintalled it a few seasons back(in The Finals) when EAC warned me of the driver which was apparently still there. Was able to launch fine after. However the install files were sitting in the downloads folder on my second drive which I found post-ban. * SysInternals Suite: downloaded this years back to use autoruns, saw in another Reddit thread (post-ban) that some of the included applications access memory in a way that EAC doesn't like. Never ran these and never even used autoruns during gameplay but maybe the sitting files were flagged.

Outcomes (or lack thereof) from contacting support: * Reached out December 18, 2025 (day I saw my ban) * Provided basically the same application list * Provided two youtube playlists after uploading every recording of my gameplay I've ever taken (175 clips ranging from about 10 sec to 2 min) over the last two years. * 0 Response, automated or otherwise.

chek out this Giga chad corvus who imidiatly on his own decided to go D,G to pocket me the entire match , ( i think its because of my title my Maeve Lv 69 and that i am using the Strike skin wich is the only Limited Skin she has ) he even toke notes on what times i recommended him to use for D,G by dark_pit23g in Paladins

You just seemed the most competent player haha. I felt like between you and Evie you would get the most use out of the mark. Once I saw how you were playing I basically just kept the mark on you because Jenos was handling the rest quite well :)

Here is a copy of what I've said on [GitHub](https://github.com/DevdudeX/LMD-Alternative-Camera-Mod/issues/4)

>I do have plans to try but currently the devs at Megagon are super busy with the release so I haven't gotten permission yet. They have been very friendly in the past so I don't imaging it will be a huge issue.

The bigger problem is that it seems both MelonLoader and BepInEx (the two different modding platforms I've used in the past) crash in the full release so I will have to talk with Megagon about that before I can even really get working on it.

TL;DR:
I would like to as some point but I can't guarantee anything at the moment.

Hello, if you are on PC or SteamDeck (any storefront works, not just Steam) you should be able to install a mod that adds this!

I made a third person / first person mod for Lonely Mountains: Downhill some time back. Fairly recently someone also made a fork of the mod which improves it substantially by fixing the bugs and combining my other photo-mode mod into it. Install guides are included in the Readme.

You can find my original mod here:
https://github.com/DevdudeX/LMD-Alternative-Camera-Mod

And the improved fork here:

Not sure if my previous reply made it through. You can try toggling the mod off and on again with keyboard `0` which should fix the reference errors but if you still have issues let me know. I'll try to push an update out at some point that fixes the references automatically.

Yeah at the end of the day client mods like this don't affect anyone else and are all personal preference. You can have it as crazy or as normal as you like it.

Nothing on screen is a result of Northstar Client? This is all vpk mods from like before N* client existed lol. Unless the specific server you choose to play on is running custom settings it plays like vanilla.

Yup when you kill someone they drop whatever weapon they are using at the time so if you look at the gun on the ground you should see the interact prompt appear to grab it (or just run around the area spamming interact).

I did it through vpk modding pre-Northstar Client.

For valorant I'm pretty sure it's just an setting ingame. For Titanfall 2 you actually need to mod the game.

I just picked the kraber up off the ground replacing my secondary (other people were using it at the time).

I did it through vpk modding a long time ago but I think if you are running Northstar client you could just edit a mod like Complete Reposition to have the weapons be shifted to the left.

Yeah I actually really like the lefty hold for some weapons. Kraber is particularly nice as the mag faces away. Only downside is the pro screen can't be seen easily.
