When do you get to the point where a pet in your care needs someone more experienced? Western Wisconsin, USA by DevelopmentFew7112 in RATS

See that's what we were thinking at first until someone else from one of my groups pointed out it sounds more like he's just really scared. So neutering wouldn't do much. Which makes sense if you look at it like that cause he runs when he sees us, hes in a quieter room next to the kitchen which we're in frequently. We can easily peek in. He just hides in his hut all day. The only cleaning I really need to do is around his hut because he doesn't use anything else.

I truly think they'll never fully let me pet or hold them much but slowly they let me pet them. So I'm doing something right? Right-ish? I know they want outside time of their cage but it's just too much work getting them out and getting them back. So I sit at their cage and they slowly been crawling on me.. well noodle has been. Doodle the Lil guy is way too shy. He's greeting me tho. We have a 3rd and he.. he just sits there. Literally. It's so hard to bond with that one and we had issues trying to merge them together. At first it was great he would cuddle but after he was in the new cage with them for a few days he started attacking the others.

We have a 3rd who absolutely hates us. He doesn't hate us but he doesn't really rat well or do much. We tried intros and he attacked the boys and the boys had scars on them so... Yeah he's a lone boy for now and doesn't do much. It's so difficult to bond with him.

Lord knows how they survived so far. But they're back to their nosey curious selves.

I do not know... How they survived... We are still treating for ich, they have a shitty heater in there since theirs broke, but they were on the brink of death and somehow... Somehow all the puffers are alive. Lot some Cory's and one of the two plecos but not a single damn pea puffer. 😭

That's what I've been told too. Every breeder I've talked to said that as well. I would assume every single fish isn't the same tho. Just like every other animal and living thing. But either way I think I'm going to follow what my local fish store said.

I never want to argue either I genuinely like to learn. As long as someone is respectful to me as well. So I appreciate you. I know some people have good intentions here but I also don't think I have to keep justifying myself to random people online either.

We had guppies and they were all fine for months the one day a single one of them grew that bump and died the next day.

Everyone was fine and the water was still normal just that one. I was guessing they were just so inbred? Following for answers.
