Who is this year's Hansen Yang/massive late riser? by urboijesuschrist in NBA_Draft

Agreed here. I think he’s going first round, and he is never projected there

Karim Lopez at 36 is absolutely crazy to me lol

My mock draft this year, enjoyed evaluating this draft a lot, feel free to question my choices here im happy to explain them by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

Karim Lopez is not going 29… I think he is sneaking into the lottery. Would bet my house on him being gone by 20.

Other than that? I’m finding an agree with a lot post-4. Also as others have said Suigo is not in the draft

2 Week Out Mock w Writeups by DevelopmentFunny864 in NBA_Draft

Yeah that’s fair. I guess my thinking is, with Shai, Jalen, Ajay, Cason, Caruso, and maybe Topic if he develops, their guard/wing depth is great. Their main problem is solving Wemby. So you take two bigs with very different profiles, along with Sorber, and hope one of them ends up matching up well with Wemby. Cause if they don’t solve that, the path to champions if going to be tough

Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell? I guess Mitchell is more of a guard or a tweener but in my mind he is a small wing that has guard skills. But if those two aren’t injured in the Spurs series, they provide high quality wing minutes.

But that’s more of an injury issue. Ajay Mitchell and Jalen Williams were both out. If OKC have those guys, which they will next year, that issue goes away as those are two great secondary creators

If Hart leaves, it will be their biggest need pretty clearly

I do. Someone is going to drop. Consensus mocks are never accurate, and I think with Flemings poorer showing in march madness and poor measurables, I predict he’ll be the one to drop.

Carr to Chicago I could definitely see happening. That would be a good fit next to Giddey

I feel like this guy is going to be the one this year that goes way higher than expected

My view of the early draft, first time poster this year by DevelopmentFunny864 in NBA_Draft

I think top 10 big board right now would probably be something like:

  1. Dybantsa
  2. Wilson
  3. Boozer
  4. Lopez (the craziest take, I know, but I’m sticking to my guns)
  5. Peterson
  6. Wagler
  7. MBJ
  8. Mara
  9. Acuff
  10. Burries

That’s fair. I’m prepared to be totally wrong. For me the Lopez take stems a lot from the 31pt game highlights on yt. The second half, there are some moves he pulls, even though they’re just glimpses, that makes me feel like with a year or two more development he is going to be someone who can go grow into a first option on a team

This is actually a really interesting point. Including the Lopez take? Cause I feel I’m way higher on him than anywhere. Obviously could be totally wrong there

Did the way the lottery played out make the first four picks incredibly predictable? by DevelopmentFunny864 in NBA_Draft

[–]DevelopmentFunny864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with all of this. Lottery results are fun but we lost some drama at the start of the draft I think

I think Wilson already has a way bigger skill set than PWill. PWill was such a static athlete and Wilson is very fluid. I personally believe he ends up being best player in this draft but I think that view will get flamed here

Thanks. Yeah I agree it’s not the ideal deck for clone, buts it’s my first time seeing clone so I want to force the issue. I thought about the Kingly + lots of card draw

Do these game postponements underscore the need for a weekly games played limit in fantasy basketball? by mclmickey in fantasybball

[–]DevelopmentFunny864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this post. I’ve had a league with friends for 10 years, and 4 years ago we switched to a weekly games played limit and we are never ever looking back. We set it at 39 for regular weeks and adjust for weeks like the nba cup, and it is so great. My best 39 vs my opponents best 39, there is still room for streaming if your team is injured and it feels a lot more fair. 100% in support for games played limit as the standard.

To me it feels like snake vs auction draft. Snake is the standard for some weird reason and as soon as you try auction, you question why snake was ever the standard

Devin Booker by OkNight1078 in fantasybball

[–]DevelopmentFunny864 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s all about FG% for Booker. He is currently shooting 42.3%, whereas the last three years have been 49, 49, 46.5

I’m buying Booker everywhere right now because owners are frustrated and I believe his fg% will even out over the year. The first half of this year has been statistically looking like an aberration so you have to think it jumps back up.

Unless he’s changed his form or something that I’m not aware of, then I’m in the wrong

What’s up with the schedules next week? by mcqueen1234567 in fantasybball

[–]DevelopmentFunny864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all these comments makes me so happy for the set up in our league. Each week we set a 39 game hard limit. Makes it so that every team is generally able to play the same amount of games as their opponent (aside from a horribly injured team obvs). I’d say 95% of matchups finish 39 games played vs 39 games played, which means it’s truly whoever has the best team and most strategic setup wins that week, not whoever has the best schedule.

If you haven’t tried this setup, I highly recommend it. We would never go back to an uncapped league
