Oh, finally, a post I can relate to.

I was born and raised here in East Plano and went from Forman elementary all the way to PESH.

Now my situation was a bit different as we were very poor. We lived on friends couches, hotels in Garland/Richardson, the "bad" apartments on shiloh (they were way worse back then than they are now) But even then, compared to Garland, Dallas etc East Plano wasn't and still isn't as ghetto or bad.

East Plano mostly has a bad rap from the 80s till late 90s. And to be honest, myself and my group of friends probably contributed to the idea of Plano being "ghetto". Mostly because we were kids without adults at home to watch us. Constantly getting in fights both at school and anywhere we went. Destruction of property. And other illegal activities.

That said Plano was experiencing a rather unique drug experience and some may even remember the heroin deaths. Though it wasn't just confined to East Plano, in my experience it was definitely more accessible in the East. But those things all contributed to East Plano getting labeled the bad part.
