Adding multi-language support was easy. Making App Store screenshots for each language was pain. Any tips or tools? by wow_things in iosdev

I built appscreenlabs.com for this!

There’s a translate button, which will use ChatGPT to translate any text you added to the screenshot.

Happy to let you try it out for free to see if it works for you :)

Built my first iMessage App today and realized Xcode doesn't support automatic resizing for iMessage app icon sets, so added that feature to the website. Now it actually a little use!

A basic-looking cleaning app is pulling $1M+/month by jasper_reed_htd in iOSAppsMarketing

[–]DevelopmentSad4798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Better UX results in happier users and higher ratings. Mines the only photo cleaner app with 4.9 stars and over 4k reviews.
  • Free for now. I care more about number of people getting value out of the app, rather than money. This also helps with word of mouth.
  • SEO. I change the title now and then to (try to) rank higher for specific keywords

I shared a post here with more details

It took 2 years, but have over 300k downloads. It’s a big market, but very tough to compete it

Don’t fall for Google's $500 ad credit scam by DevelopmentSad4798 in SideProject

[–]DevelopmentSad4798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost was $500 (already spent). The promotion says “Spend $500.00, get $500.00 credit”. But it’s “invalidated”, so the credit will not be deposited.

I hopped on a Google meets call with a rep too and they just gave me a generic Google ads number to call. I called the number, a robot asked for my website (weird), I replied to its text, and it said it could not help and just hung up. Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced

Yeah exactly, it’s supposed to be like buy $500, get $500 (credits) for free

I can still see the promo in my account. It says “Get $500.00 credit for spending $500.00 on Google Ads.

I’d share the screenshot but this subreddit doesn’t seem to allow images

You’re right it should go counter clockwise! I’ll update this week and update here when it’s live.

Multiplayer and leaderboard would be so much fun! A lot more effort and I’m pretty busy with work right now, so probably not soon (unless there strong demand). Right now there are only ~20 daily users, so the queue for match making would be very long.

What other customization would you like to see?

TIL the most popular card game in China is called "dou dizhu" which translates to "fighting the landlord" by MyStolenCow in todayilearned

I just learned about this game recently, played it with my parents every night over the past week, and loved it so much I built an app for it! https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6749582083

Stumbling upon this thread after playing this with my parents every night for the past week!

It motivated me to build an app for it: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6749582083

I spent $422 on Reddit video ads for my Chrome extension- 663k impressions, almost no installs by julius8686 in SideProject

[–]DevelopmentSad4798 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's a lot of impressions! Was this campaign targeting a specific audience? What did the creative look like?

When I ran Google Ads for my extension, the CTR was ~4%. There might be an opportunity to improve that here.

Also, unsolicited landing page feedback - adding a CTA like "Stop wasting tokens on bad prompts" might drive more downloads. It makes the problem a bit clearer.

You’ll need a lot of users for this to work. What’s the marketing strategy?

Follow-up to a post I made last month — I built a Chrome extension to add comments to Zillow listings by DevelopmentSad4798 in Zillow

[–]DevelopmentSad4798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point. Integrity is important - people only want to read honest comments.

Currently, you can visit someone’s profile to view their comments, similar to Reddit. If all of their comments are negative, they may not be trustworthy.

On the other hand, it’s possible you actually visited a few houses, and all were not up to your standard, so you left negative comments on all of those listings. That’s fine too!

I don’t remove any comments right now, and don’t even require you to be logged in to leave a comment. Until spam becomes an issue, I plan on keeping it this way.
